Pokemonis special because people are drawn to it for a variety of reasons. Some people have grown up alongside it, riding the wave of the late 90sPokemonboom. Others have joined the fandom in later generations of thevideo games, watched the anime, or found love in the trading card game.

Finding one’s favorite type is a big part of thePokemonfandom, and the Fighting-type is one few flocks to. Among the brawlers and protectors belonging to this type, there are a dozen Pokemon that deserve more love than they get. Who knows, someone’s favorite Pokemon could be one they simply haven’t heard of before, a case all too common as thePokemonroster nears 1,000 unique creatures.
8Conkeldurr
It’s fitting in a way that a Pokemon based on construction workers would be forgotten about by the masses. It is responsible for bringing to life structures that help serve the community, and yet it drifts by under the radar. Though Conkeldurr is known as the Muscular Pokemon, it should have been labeled the Hardworking Pokemon. This creature has tremendous advantages in its base stats when looking at its health, physical defense, and physical attack. Sure it may lack speed, butFighting-types tend to be more about strong single strikes, than swift action and movement.
7Crabominable
When fans think about the Alolan Islands featured inPokemon Sun & Moonthey likely gravitate towards tropical Pokemon or creatures that prefer warmer climates. That exact thought process is what makes Woolly Crab Pokemon Crabominable so special. As a Fighting and Ice-type, one wouldn’t think that it could live and thrive on the beautiful Alolan Islands, but it happens to call the high wintery peaks home as it finds comfort in the limited snowy climate. Thanks to its shiny form, it happens to sport either red or blue accents, fitting for any trainer who prefers one color scheme over the other.
6Mienshao
The fifth generation ofPokemongames,Pokemon Black & White, were the firstsince the originalPokemon Red & Blueto introduce over 150 new Pokemon to the series. That sole fact is why it’s understandable that some of the less desirable Pokemon in the Unova region were forgotten about.

There is a bipedal Fighting-type ferret called Mienfoo that evolves at level 50 into its final form called Mienshao. Fighting-type Pokemon generally fall into a niche type, not every trainer prefers adding to their team, and level 50 is quite the investment for an evolution. A new regional form for Mienshao that possibly adds a new design and/or secondary typing is the bit of love this creature deserves.
5Grapploct
MostPokemonfans tend to forget that the Water-type octopus known as Octillery exists, so it’s no surprise that Grapploct is also overlooked. This Fighting-type octopus surfaced inPokemon Sword & Shieldand didn’t make many waves in the fandom. Its physical attack and physical defense base stats are at an elite level, but sadly it happens to be in the lower percentile when looking at its speed. Thanks to its ability called Limber, it is impossible for Grapploct to become paralyzed, and thanks to it appearing like a Water-type Pokemon, it serves as an excellent Electric-type trainer fakeout.
4Medicham
Medicham has partially resurfaced in the minds of thePokemonfandom recently thanks to the releaseofPokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. These remakes of the fourth generation of games followedPokemon Legends: Arceus’love affair with this same generation. The Meditate Pokemon can either be acquired in the wild or evolved from a Meditite at level 37. The Fighting-type is weak to Psychic-type moves, but when a Pokemon like Medicham is both Fighting and Psychic-type it’s able to protect itself from one of its true weaknesses.
3Breloom
At first glance the Grass-type plant bulb Shroomish seems like another filler plant-based Pokemon that should simply be forgotten. The third generation ofPokemongames had other plans in mind as Shroomish would emerge into a stout fighter named Breloom once it hit level 23.

Grass-type Pokemon often get a bad reputation, but combining them with the Fighting-type creates a combination with a stellar selection of moves to learn. If said Breloom also happens to have the Effect Spore ability, any Pokemon brave enough to make physical contact with it in battle could likely end up poisoned or paralyzed.
2Heracross
True diehards of thePokemonseries will never forget the Bug and Fighting dual-type known as Heracross. This navy blue beetle is one fans have yearned for an evolution for, since the release ofPokemon Gold & Silver. In reality, it may be the designers at GameFreak and The Pokemon Company that have truly forgotten this creature. Though Heracross has been the beneficiary of a Mega evolution, fans are still holding out hope that it gets both a new regional form and evolution in a brand newPokemontitle in the near future. Between Dunsparce, Tauros, and Heracross there are plenty ofPokemon that deserve more evolutionary lovethan they’ve received.
1Primeape
Long-timePokemonfans with a Kanto region bias may scoff at the idea of Primeape being a forgotten Pokemon, but the reality is sometimes hard to swallow. Whenthe Kanto region’soriginal 151 Pokemon are discussed, the Fighting-type brawler is rarely brought up. The only time Primeape is ever discussed in an earnest fashion is when people remember the notable episode of the anime in which Ash Ketchum befriends a stubborn Primeape that enjoys wearing his hat. Other than that both Mankey and Primeape wait in the shadows as people discuss Gyarados, Scyther, and Snorlax for the hundredth time.
