PopularYouTubecontent creator Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. is often embroiled in controversy, with some of his actions resulting in a Twitch ban in the past. During a recentYouTubelivestream, IShowSpeed was swatted and handcuffed before being taken away, but the successful Twitch streamer Adin Ross has allegedly bailed him out.
IShowSpeed was swatted during a broadcast on his YouTube channel on August 8 that resulted in his arrest, the day after popular Twitch streamer Adin Ross had a swatting of his own during one of his livestreams. The two streamers aren’t the only ones to have been swatted before a live audience, with othersincluding Hasan Piker, Drift0r, HeyItsMeSalty, Keffals, Nate Hill, and more. Given that swatting has notably resulted in the death of at least one person, the severity of the situation is often addressed by streamers like IShowSpeed and Adin Ross who are united in suffering the same issue back-to-back.

Similar to IShowSpeed’s recent livestream, Adin Ross fans were able to see law enforcement with guns drawn during theTwitch streamer’s August 7 broadcastas he complied and the situation was defused as other swattings have been. Ross may have been touched by the event as he willingly paid IShowSpeed’s sizable $20,000 bail and assured the YouTuber’s community that he was “doing good” before IShowSpeed was able to return to streaming after the abrupt end to his August 8 show. According to IShowSpeed, Ross was able to wire the full amount of bail to the “confederation of the department” he was in which set the YouTube content creator free.
Claiming to have entered his local jail with just his pants and phone, IShowSpeed stated that the jail gave him some complimentary flip-flops to leave the facility in. Some IShowSpeed fans that have been skeptical since he nearly burned his house down with a Pikachu firework are anticipating the whole swatting was part of an intricate plan that includes calling a false 911 contact in his phone that was actually a friend that staged the entire thing. Depending on whether IShowSpeed was briefly incarcerated or not, it’s not entirely clear how valid the claims ofTwitch’s Adin Rosspaying $20,000 to bail him out of jail are.
The top response to IShowSpeed’s first YouTube video since thelivestreamed swatting and handcuffingcelebrates his freedom and achievements in a proclamation about how inspirational the content creator is. A large portion of the YouTube audience expressed enthusiasm for his livestreams and many users referenced their own smiling faces. Given that several IShowSpeed fans suggested that his most recent stream is the best one, the swatting may have simply added more fuel to hisYouTubecontent creation fire.
