However, this version of Sonic runs with the consequences of the Shatterverse, with the event calling him “Boscage Maze Sonic” to differentiate him from his other counterparts. In the show itself, Sonic accidentally enters the Boscage Maze Universe, where he finds the world has been overrun with plant life. His new shoes and gloves adapt to the new world around him, becoming leafy and organic, with a pair of Wolverine-esque blades that can be produced from his hands or feet.
Boscage Maze Sonic’s abilities inSonic Forces: Speed Battlereflect his new surroundings and universe, where he can use trees, brambles, and lilypad items to gain an advantage in the races against his opponents. It’s a little strange that the abilities don’t focus on his new claws, but the abilities do reflect the Boscage Maze’s diverse plantlife. The event will be running from February 28th until August 04, 2025 according to Sega Hardlight, and can be earned by winning races to collect his character cards and treasure.
The first eight episodes of the season launched near the end of 2022 in November, with asecond season forSonic Primebeing slated to release this year. It’s likely fans will see another character added close to its premiere on Netflix, much like Rusty Rose and Tails Nine after the first episode released. Possible candidates include popular alternate universe versions of Sonic’s friends like Knuckles the Dread, or Shadow the Hedgehog himself, as the latter is looking to play a more prominent role within the second season.
