Ant-Manand the Wasp: Quantumaniais set to bring the MCU into a new phase, but that doesn’t mean Marvel Studios intends to spring all their ideas at once. According to producer Stephen Broussard, there are no plans to bring a Young Avengers project forward.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawill reportedly set up future phases of the MCU. This time around, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is goingface off against a bigger threat than Thanos: Kang (Jonathan Majors). Kang’s journey won’t end here, as the character is set to be the main antagonist ofAvengers: The Kang Dynastyin 2025, and he’ll probably pop up throughout the next two phases of the MCU.

In an interview withInverse, Broussard was open and stated that there were no plans for a Young Avengers project, at least not at this time. Interestingly, he conceded that Phase Four of the MCU was about setting up the universe’s future. “[…] a lot of Phase Four was about introducing the next generation and introducing new characters,” Broussard assured Inverse.
In the comics, theYoung Avengers are Marvel’s answerto the Teen Titans. Their roster has varied over the years, but Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, and America Chavez have all been team members. Originally, the members of the Young Avengers had powers that mimicked the main Avengers team. For instance, Iron Lad had powered armor like Iron Man (though he was a Kang variant), Wiccan was known as Asgardian after Thor (though he was a magic user and the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch), and Hulkling was known for his Hulk-like appearance (though he was the son of Captain Marvel and a Kree-Skrull hybrid).
Rumors of a Young Avengers project have been prevalent throughout Phase Four. SeveralYoung Avengers have already appeared in the MCU, and their presence has sparked speculation about a possible movie. To date, Kate Bishop appeared inHawkeye,where she was played by Hailee Steinfeld, while Elijah Bradley appeared inThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier,played by Elijah Richardson. Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd appeared inWandaVisionandDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, played by Julian Hilliard and Jett Klyne, respectively. America Chavez would appear in the latter project, played by Xochitl Gomez.
Cassie Lang will be played by Kathryn Newton inAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.TheAnt-Man 3poster revealed a first lookat Cassie suited up as Stature, and her abilities mirror those of her father’s. A key component ofAnt-Man 3will reportedly involve Cassie and Scott’s relationship. His disappearance in the wake of the Snap means he missed out on several years of Cassie’s life. The two will try to reconnect throughout the film.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawill be released in theaters on June 19, 2025.
