Apex Legendsis enjoying an impressive boost in popularity due to the release of Season 12. This latest update has introduced a lot of new content for players to check out, such as Mad Maggie, the 9v9 Control LTM, and a revamped Olympus map. However, some are still unsatisfied with several parts of the battle royale title.
Among the issues players believe need changing is the leveling system. For a while now, the level cap inApex Legendshas been stuck at 500. This means that once a player reaches this impressive milestone, they no longer can level up further. In addition to this leveling system, some have argued that skins have become overpriced in the game. Many have citedthe Prestige Bloodhound skinas an example, noting that it could cost $164 to unlock in the upcoming Anniversary Collection Event. Recently, one gamer came up with a way to fix these problems in the future.

The Apex Legends Community’s Idea For a Prestige System
In a post on Reddit, a user known as Woogz_ shared an idea that addressed the problems with overpriced cosmetics and the capped leveling system inApex Legends. According to the Reddit user, they suggested implementing a Prestige system similar to the one seen in theCall of Dutyseries. They claimed that this could solve both these issues affecting the battle royale.
This Prestige system proposed by Woogz_ has been seen in theCall of Dutyfranchise for years. While it varies from game to game, it generally rewards players with exclusive unlocks, such as emblems and weapon blueprints, after reaching the max in-game rank. After achieving this level, players are returned to rank 1, where they begin the work of leveling up once again. According to Woogz_,Apex Legendscould benefit from this type of system, as it would incentivize players to continue to play. If the game reset the level of the player back to 1 after reaching a potential level 1,000, they would be able to continue to level up while being rewarded with exclusive cosmetics for their hard work.
Since making this post on Reddit, numerous members of theApex Legendscommunity weighed in. With over 3,300 upvotes in only a few hours, the reception from fans seems to be positive. Many believed that the idea would make a good fit for the battle royale game, as it would serve as a less pricey option for obtaining rare cosmetics.
It will be interesting to see if thedevelopers at Respawn Entertainmenttake note of this intriguing idea put forth by Woogz_. While including this type of system would likely take a lot of effort, it seems as though many community members are in support of the overhaul. Only time will tell if this type of Prestige system ever makes it intoApex Legends.
Apex Legendsis available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
