A talentedPokemonartist has given Vulpix a new look, making the Pokemon even more adorable. ThePokemonfranchise has many debates to define the strongest, strangest, or funniest Pokemon. But one debate that usually draws fans in more than in other cases is about which is the cutest Pokemon ever created by Game Freak.

Among the strong contenders for the title of most adorable Pokemon is Vulpix, one of the original 150 Pokemon with appearances in all but Gen 9 games. Vulpix is a small creature that evolves into Ninetales when it is exposed to a Fire Stone. In addition to being a constant presence in the game’s Pokedex, Vulpix is a recurring name in the anime. Among all the episodes where Vulpix has been seen, two appearances stand out. One is Brock’s Vulpix, and the other is Lillie’s Vulpix fromPokemon the Series: Sun and Moon. This one draws attention for its different appearance as it is theregional variant from Alola.

Reddit user MythRava did something that could be considered unlikely and gave Vulpix a makeover that made the Pokemon an even more adorable creature. Vulpix has a body covered in reddish-brown fur, a tail, and orange-colored fur on its head. When it evolves into Ninetales, the Pokemon gains luxurious golden-white fur and nine orange-tipped tails. In the fan art created by the artist, Vulpix transforms into a Canadian Marble Fox, with fur in shades of black and gray, and cute red eyes. There are severalPokemon based on foxesbesides Vulpix and Ninetales, but interestingly there isn’t one based on this fox type.

The other users of the officialPokemonsubreddit liked the fan art shared by MythRava, a digital artist with fan art making new Pokemon variants. One of the comments noticed something interesting that is worth highlighting, saying that it is as if the Pokemon is the combination of a Vulpix and a Galarian Zigzagoon. InPokemon Sword and Shield, fans were introduced to another regional variant, the Galarian form. They changed the appearance of little monsters like Zigzagoon, which got one ofPokemon’s best Galarian redesigns.

MythRava’s fan art shows that even though the franchise looks for inspiration in so many different places,Pokemonfans always find new ideason which to base their work. The Vulpix created by the artist is specifically curious, as the Canadian Marble Fox is considered the “cat version of a husky” because of its appearance. This variant makes one wonder what a Dark/Ice-type Vulpix or even an Ice/Pyschic-type variant would look like, as these are types that would go well with this Vulpix design.
