Summary

AnAssassin’s Creedfan has recently pointed out that Altair’s robe’s physics look very different across several games in the franchise, despite always mimicking the same overall design.Assassin’s Creedhas released 13 mainline entries since 2007, and Altair was the protagonist of the first game in the series, which made him a very iconic character.

Together with Ezio Auditore da Firenze fromAssassin’s Creed 2, Altair Ibn-La’Ahad is perhaps one of themost famousAssassin’s Creedcharacters. Altair was a Syrian Assassin during the Middle Ages, appearing as a playable character in both the first game and during brief flashback segments inAssassin’s Creed 2andRevelations. However, the iconic robes of the famous Assassin are unlockable in mostAssassin’s Creedgames.

Now, a gamer called CrazyMathematician85 pointed out that Altair’s white robe has pretty different physics in distinct games where it appears. Between the first game andAC Revelations, Altair’s robes feel the same, as they’re mostly loose and extend longer than in the following entries. The major shift happens inAssassin’s Creed 3. While the character does not appear in this game,Altair’s clothes can be unlocked inAssassin’s Creed 3by completing all optional objectives during main missions with 100% sync. FromAC3toRogue, Altair’s robe feels tight and somewhat shorter than in previous games, as it seems to be closer to the Assassin’s legs, as if it were some kind of pants. Finally, fromAssassin’s Creed Unityonwards, it becomes looser again, but not as much as in the first game.

Assassin’s Creed Player Noticed Altair’s Robe Looks Different In Some AC Games

In the comments of CrazyMathematician85’s post, gamers discussed why Altair’s robes feel so different in distinct entries. One of the most likely reasons is due to limitations in realistic cloth physics in later games. In the first few games, Altair’s clothes are the default, and likely to be used during most of the experience. OtherAssassin’s Creedgames have several outfits, however, so the robes probably do not move so much because they do not have specific cloth physics, as they are no longer a costume that most players will even see.

The next entry in theACfranchise,Assassin’s Creed Shadowswill be released on November 15. At the moment, it’s not yet known whether the game will have an unlockable Altair costume for players, but the option has been present in so many mainline games of the franchise that it’s possible that either Naoe or Yasuke could have it as a bonus outfit.
