AnAssassin’s Creed Mirageleak has shown off a small piece of concept art for the upcoming game.Assassin’s Creed Miragewill be the franchie’s first release since 2020’sAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is the longest wait between mainline titles in the franchise ever.

The last game made in this style wasAssassin’s Creed Syndicateback in 2015, so fans have waited a while for this.

The leak is a small piece of concept art, coming courtesy of the upcoming book,The Making of Assassin’s Creed: 15th Anniversary Ultimate Editionfrom Dark Horse Direct. The book is currently up for pre-order, with the preview showing off the piece of artwork. It’s unknown if this is intentional or a genuine mistake, however, theAssassin’s Creedfranchise is no stranger to leaks. Late last year,gameplay from the upcoming mobile gameAssassin’s Creed Jadeleaked online, and there have been many other leaks over the years.

The art itself showcases Basim, the protagonist ofAssassin’s Creed Mirage, traversing through the streets of Baghdad while trailed by another assassin. The art resembles the firstAssassin’s Creedtitle, with the low buildings in dense cities providing the perfect location for swift parkour. GivenAssassin’s Creed Mirage’s return to the series' roots, the resemblance makes sense. Many thought thatAssassin’s Creed Miragewould be a remake of the original game, although these rumors faded after the game’s announcement. With the original now over 15 years old, a remake could still be on the cards in the coming years.

WithAssassin’s Creedcontinuing to be a huge seller for Ubisoft, the franchise is here to stay. Ubisoft is promising to please fans of both the old and new style ofAssassin’s Creedgames. The current slate of announced games includesAssassin’s Creed Mirage,Assassin’s Creed Hexe, andAssassin’s Creed Red, giving fans confirmation that they’ll have plenty of content for years to come. It’s currently unknown when players can expect to hear more about the development of these titles.
