The Gift From the Gods quest inAssassin’s Creed Originspays homage to theFinal Fantasyquest bearing the same name. The Developers at Square Enix and Ubisoft have long been fans of each others' work, including tributes to each other in their games. For example, Square Enix included a reference toAssassin’s Creed OriginsinFinal Fantasy XV, which featured a festival event that allowed players to acquire Bayek’s outfit.

Likewise, inAssassin’s Creed Origins, Ubisoft created the Gift from the Gods quest, as well as featured Ardyn and a few otherFFXVitems. Just like in theFFXVquest, gamers will need to solve a puzzle to complete the objective.
Updated on July 23rd, 2023 by Hodey Johns:This article was originally published with the direction interspersed with some flavor text and background information. While all of this will be fascinating to hardcore gamers, some players just want to solve the puzzle as quickly as possible. For them, this article now starts off with a checklist, detailing as quickly as possible how to complete this particular mission. Additionally, some important pictures have been added that show the exact location to stand to get the rock to fall and what the puzzle itself looks like so that visual learners will be able to follow along just as well as any readers. Finally, a map was also added at the start so players know exactly which ledge to start on.
The rewards from this quest are some of the best in the game. Since items get worse as players level up, even though this is some ofthe best gear for the early game, perfectionists may want to knock this quest out last.
Completing The Gift From The Gods Quest
To begin the quest, Bayek will need to travel to the cliffs overlooking the Giza and the ancient pyramids in the Ptolemaic Kingdom. A massive meteorite will strike the ground right in front of the Medium Pyramid. Bayek is fairlystrong compared to otherAssassin’s Creedprotagonists, so the ground shaking won’t phase him.
After watching the meteorite fall, Bayek will investigate the crash site to see what has fallen from the sky. Players will need to be level 23 for the side quest to activate.

Head down to the crash site, which is right in front of an ancient tomb. Once Bayek inspects the meteorite, the next step is to explore the tomb. Inside, there are markings on the wall that look like a sundial. Walk up the steps and activate Senu.
Spot the sundial puzzle and note the location of the pillar at the 12:00 position. Climb up that pillar to activate a brief cutscene. Afterward, Bayek will be staring directly at the 12:00 pillar. A panel will expose a blue crystal on this pillar and a few others, but only focus on this pillar. Shoot the crystal three times and re-enter the tomb, taking in the sights that make this one ofthe best games set in Africa.
Shoot the crystal three times and re-enter the tomb. Then follow the checkpoint back into the tomb and interact with the figure to trigger a longer cutscene. At the end of it, the quest will be completed and Bayek and Aya can get back to theRPGs changing the Templar lore.
Explanation And Rewards
The figure for those not familiar with theFinal Fantasygames is Ardyn fromFFXV. Players are probably expecting an Egyptian Pharaoh to appear. Instead, they get Ardyn and a metal bird that fires swords at the ground. Ardyn will be pulled into the heavens, leaving only his sword and shield. Once he disappears, the quest is over, and gamers will be able to pick up some pretty awesome rewards.
Bayek will receive three items for finishing the side mission. One of these rewards is arguably one ofthe best mounts in the gameif players are a fan ofFFXV.

These are the Kweh Mount, Ziedrich Shield, and Ultima Blade. All three of the items are well worth the few minutes of effort it takes to complete the quest. Any fan of Final Fantasy will especially love adding these rewards to their arsenal.
The combined force of the sword and the shield will leech health from enemies while they slowly bleed out. Also, they look incredible in the game. Collectors will not want to pass this side quest up.The franchise has many dark games, including this one, so moments of levity are welcome.
Like other items inOrigins, the sword and shield will scale to the character. Gamers should keep that in mind before they finish the quest, or they may be disappointed if they get these items as level 23 gear.
