Given the existence of both 5-Star and 4-Star Servants inFate/Grand Order, no one could blame players for immediately shunning other lesser-starred variants. Such is the case of3-Star Servants, who often get ignored in favor of their higher-starred counterparts. However, those familiar with the meta know that ignoring these Servants by virtue of their star number would have players miss out on a lot of opportunities.

In fact, many 3-Star Servants hold a lot of potential in the endgame provided fans understand how exactly to grow them inFate/Grand Order. Moreover, some 3-Star Servants can end up overshadowing their 5-Star counterparts when used in the right context.
10David (Archer)
The original underdog,Davidproves there’s always a way torise out of a rough patch. HisHamesh Avanim C-(Noble Phantasm) gives him a guaranteed hit and deals high single-target damage, and even stops an opponent from using their skills if this was used while Overcharged.
In addition, hisCharisma B(Skill) can boost everyone’s attack, whereasDivine Protection A(Skill) boosts his defense and recovers health. Not to mention, hisHarp Of Healing B(Skill) not only removes debuffs but also recovers health for everyone and gives them Evade for a single time, potentially saving everyone from certain death.
Despite the apparent usefulness of his kit, however, David does lack both damage potential and health for his 3-Star stature. Not only that, his lack of critical boosts and inability to chain his attacks with Buster cards limits his damage potential – something very uncommon for an Archer.
9Hassan Of The Hundred Personas (Assassin)
One of theoriginal Assassins,Hassan Of The Hundred Personasproves that anyone bearing the Hassan name is a force to reckon with. HerZabaniya (Hundred Personas) B+(NP) deals huge damage to a single target and also severely reduces their Arts resistance and critical chance.
This works well with Hassan’sLibrarian Of Knowledge C(Skill) which boosts her own criticals and NP Gain, as well asWide Specialization A+(Skill) that may boost her potency in any given card. In a pinch,Wide Specialization A+can also offer her much-needed Evade, whileBattle Retreat B(Skill) can heal her in exchange for removing all her buffs.
While her damage output has potential, the RNG-based nature of Wide Specialization A+ may make Hassan inconsistent in the combat department. Although capable of outliving her other 3-Star counterparts, she’s not as competent enough in terms of damage numbers for her survivability to matter long-term.
8Robin Hood (Archer)
Stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor isRobin Hood’s signature, and this is somewhat prevalent in his toolkit. HisYew Bow D(NP) not onlydeals significant single-target damagebut may even receive a boost if used on a Poisoned enemy when Overcharged.
Thankfully, Robin Hood’s toolkit can very well guarantee this, withSabotage A(Skill) not only lessening enemy attacks but also Poisoning them for good ol’ damage-over-time.Golden Rule E(Skill) gives Robin Hood room to charge his NP so he can dish out his Poison-reliant NP. It doesn’t hurt thatMay King B(Skill) ensures he hits his target while also boosting his criticals.
However, Robin Hood falls short outside Arts teams, as there are not enough ways to gain his momentum to get NP. Not only that, the reduced HP of his nature as a 3-Star servant means he’s not as durable as players may want him to be.
7Medea (Caster)
Serving as the premiere Caster ofthe firstFate/Stay Nightgame, there’s a reason whyMedeais one of the best Casters among 3-Stars. HerRule Breaker C(NP) lives up to her Class’s distinction of being a support Servant, especially when this NP both deals damage and removes buffs of all enemies. Moreover,Circe’s Teaching A(Skill) not only removes a debuff from an ally but also boosts their NP Gain.

Medea herself has access to survivability with the healing provided by theArgon Coin(Skill), and she can also access her NP faster withRapid Words Of Divine A(Skill). Unfortunately, Medea’s support comes in the form of leaving enemies open for attack instead of the usual healing and/or attack boost combo.
6Lu Bu Fengxian (Berserker)
A devastating enemy,Lu Bu Fengxianis capable of bypassing even themightiest of defenses. This happens quite literally, too, asGod Force A(NP) can deal significant single-target damage regardless of defensive buffs, and may even stun an opponent when overcharged.
This synergizes well with his kit asValor B(Skill) boosts his attack whereasDefiant B(Skill) may do the same to his defenses. Moreover,Chaotic Villain A(Skill) boosts his criticals and the power of his NP, but for the price of decreasing the defense of his team.
Although he is one of the best burst powerhouses inFate/Grand Order, Lu Bu Fengxian’s single Arts card means he won’t be able to access his powerful attacks very often. Not only that, but his lack of survivability options and low HP among the Berserker Class make him less-than-optimal for long-term builds.
5Antonio Salieri (Avenger)
Serving as the rival to Mozart,Antonio Salieriis quite the charmer on the battlefield, especially in terms of offense. HisDio Santissimo Misericordia De Mi C(NP) may deal damage to enemies, but it also reduces the criticals of everyone around him. When Overcharged, however, this NP also boosts the damage enemies take from Arts attacks.
This rather self-serving playstyle is reflected in the rest of Salieri’s toolkit, with InnocentMonster EX (Antonio)(Skill) boosting his criticals,Lamenting Exterior A(Skill) enhancing his Arts potential, andWildfire B(Skill) decreasing an enemy’s defense.
While these skills make Salieri’s performance stunning in Arts builds, there’s not much use for his affinities outside this designation. Moreover, the lack of baseline support abilities and consistent damage boosts may make his attacks lackluster considering his build.
4Asclepius (Caster)
Mysterious and enigmatic like a white serpent,Asclepiusis one of themost capable support Servantsdespite his stature. HisResurrection Fraught Hades(NP) not only removes debuffs among allies but also grants them Guts, giving them much-needed survivability in critical moments. When Overcharged, this NP can even supply efficient health regen for everyone as well.

This synchronizes well with the rest of Asclepius' toolkit. He hasChild Of Apollo A(Skill) that not only boosts NP Gain but also seals an enemy’s ability to do their own special attack. There’sSerpent Charmer B(Skill) that removes debuffs and boosts everyone’s NP. And lastly,God Of Machine EX(Skill) boosts an ally’s resistance to debuffs while healing them.
3Gaius Julius Caesar (Saber)
Gaius Julius Caesaris a somewhat surprising member of the Saber Class, and he is a strong one. Caesar’sCrocea Mors B+(NP) deals damage to a single enemy and may also buff its user’s attack up to five times.
This works well with Caesar’s toolkit that highlights his leadership potential.Incite EX(Skill) may decrease an ally’s defense for the purposes of boosting criticals. This can work well withCharisma C(Skill) which raises everyone’s attack, andTactics B(Skill) which boosts NP Strength.
And while his role as a support Buster is unique, Caesar’s lack of focus on traditional offense may make his performance slightly lackluster.
2Euryale (Archer)
TimidEuryaleis byno means a pushover, as herEye Of The Euryale(NP) is a whopping devastator that not only decreases attack for a target but can also deal 900-percent damage to a single target. Not only that, Euryale’s NP deals more damage to male opponents and may even stun them via Charm if Overcharged.
Euryale’s toolkit is self-sustaining, allowing her to stun other male opponents viaSiren Song A(Skill), boost her overall Arts Cards efficiency viaWhim Of The Goddess A(Euryale) (Skill), and steal an enemy’s NP Bar viaVampirism C(Skill).
Sadly, Euryale’s devastating toolkit is almost only effective against male opponents. Not only that, her lack of natural defenses makes Euryale quite vulnerable. Unless she can get NP faster via other supports, Euryale won’t be that useful on the battlefield.
1Paracelsus Von Hohenheim (Caster)
Ever-the-reliant Caster,Paracelsus Von Hohenheimboasts some of themost consistent damage-dealing kits for a Caster Servantof his pedigree. HisSword Of Paracelsus A+(NP) is a decent AOE in its own right, but may even decrease enemy attack when Overcharged.
His toolkit is also a decent support set. He can usePhilosopher’s Stone A(Skill) to enhance survivability for an ally through Guts, boost the Arts Card efficiency of all allies withElemental A+(Skill), and improve his NP Gauge for another powerful attack viaRapid Casting A(Skill).
When combined with other NP-boosting Arts Casters, Hohenheim can easily become a Caster DPS. His kit makes him a nifty support unit in most instances, but his lack of natural defenses makes him vulnerable if allies can’t boost his protections.
