For many players who enjoyGenshin Impact’s overall storyline and the Traveler’s adventures, the 3.7 patch may not have made a strong appearance. While the game introduced new event quests and a hangout story that add to the lore and story progression in this version update, it doesn’t bear the same significance as many of the exciting Sumeru patches players have recently experienced. Instead, this version update has extensively focused on expanding the Genius Invokation TCG, allowing fans of this minigame to experiment with new playstyles and keeping the game robust and ever-changing with new strategies and unique combinations to be utilized.

One of the playable characters added to the roster of the TCG in this version update is Amber, who surprisingly is also the only 4-star character fromGenshin Impactthat has made an appearance, as opposed to the other 9 playable characters added in this version. Consequently, when compared to newly added Archon character cards or more popular 5-star characters, Amber may have been generally overlooked by players. Nevertheless, for fans of this character since the beginning of the game, she is still worth giving a try, considering her support DPS abilities in general.
Amber Card & Skills
While Amber may have been the first character that players could obtain freely at the beginning of their journey inGenshin Impact, obtaining her card in the TCGfollows the same process as acquiring other character cards. Players need to purchase Match Invitation Letters from the Cat’s Tail and use them to invite Amber to a Friendly Fracas duel in order to obtain her card. Similarly, her Talent Card can be obtained through a similar method, although it requires players to complete additional objectives. Therefore, obtaining Amber’s TCG card remains easy and accessible, even for players who are just starting to delve into the world of the Genius Invokation TCG.

Amber’s Talent Card: Bunny Triggered
In normal instances, Amber’s summon, Barron Bunny, leaves the field after its usage is depleted upon the active character taking damage at the end of the turn. On the other hand, utilizing this card gives more control in deciding when to explode Baron Bunny, while also increasing its damage since it will deal 3 DMG instead and can simply be exploded after the player uses a normal attack and potentially allow for elemental reactions earlier. Nevertheless, it is important to note that players may still opt to wait with using a Normal Attack first in order to trigger Baron Bunny’s defensive effect that reduces the damage taken, in order to take advantage of both of its abilities. Generally, this talent card may come in handy; however, it requires more significant timing on utilizing normal attack, and as such, may not be asimpactful as some other talent cardsthat can work more versatilely within the combo, especially if players are trying to decide between which cards to use with limited action card space.
Best Amber Decks
Amber is a straightforward character to use with no specific combo or gimmick to her abilities, allowing her to be easily used as a sub-DPS character for players who prefer a not very heavy combo-focused and easy-to-play deck option. Amber takes on the role of a sub-DPS character who can deal piercing damage and Pyro DMG, making her generally suited for many options that can make good use of her Pyro application. Nevertheless, since her Pyro application can be considered quite limited on her own, players can greatly benefit from utilizing additional characters that can apply Pyro to the team composition. This will also be helpful for being able to include Pyro Elemental Resonance Cards in the deck.
Amber + Keqing + Bennett
One of the best deck options that utilizes Amber is pairing her with Keqing and Bennett. This deck not only has extensive defensive abilities thanks to Baron Bunny’s utility andBennett’s healing potential, but it can also work as a combo-breaker deck thanks to the Overload reaction, forcing the opponent to switch to the next character. Another significant aspect of this deck is the added synergy between Keqing and Amber, as both of them deal piercing DMG with their Elemental Bursts on an AoE scale, allowing for not only taking care of one character but multiple at the same time.
Coincidentally, players should consider beginning their combo with either Keqing’s Elemental Skill and swapping to Amber to summon Baron Bunny, which may also trigger Overload quickly. Afterwards, depending on whether Baron Bunny is still on the field or not, players can either opt to swap to Bennett or Keqing or apply Baron Bunny again. It’s important to note that while this deck can highly benefit from quick swap cards, it is not mandatory since Keqing is able to do so on her own, particularly if the damage taken is not significant enough to utilize Bennett.
Amber + Tartaglia + Fatui Pyro Agent
Amber can also work well when combined with another newly added card, Tartaglia, particularly when players utilize Amber’s talent card to explode Baron Bunny after Tartaglia’s normal attack, dealing significant Vaporize damage. Furthermore, considering that Tartaglia also has access to piercing damage like the previous deck example, it brings additional ways to chip away the opponent’s HP even when theytake a defensive stanceand utilize shields.

It is worth noting that this team composition does not rely on specific combos since both Fatui Pyro Agent and Tartaglia can work as primary DPS options. Generally speaking, players can consider leaving Fatui Pyro Agent in reserve while using Amber for Pyro application before Tartaglia’s strong attacks, such as his Elemental Burst, whenever applicable. Otherwise, players who are more interested in focusing on Tartaglia’s DPS specifically can also consider replacing Fatui Pyro Agent with Xiangling.
Amber + Hu Tao + Collei
Burn may not be the mostsignificant elemental reactioninGenshin Impact’s actual gameplay; however, in the TCG, it can be quite handy. Pairing Amber and Collei can be an excellent way to enable this for fans of these two characters' friendship, but there is more to their pairing than that. Both characters can effectively utilize summons, allowing for extensive elemental application.

Collei’s Elemental Burst, in particular, provides consistent Dendro application, benefiting both Amber and Hu Tao greatly without requiring frequent swapping to Collei. When using Amber and Collei, the best strategy is to activate Amber’s Baron Bunny and then immediately swap to Collei to activate her Elemental Burst as early as possible. Afterward, players can stick with Hu Tao, who has high potential for dealing significant damage with her own kit.
Recommended Action Cards
Considering Amber’s general versatility, the specific action cards to be utilized don’t depend on her as much as the other character cards in the team. Therefore, players can explorecommonly used cardsin the game thatoffer dice managementoptions like “Timmie,” “Varanara,” and “The Bestest Travel Companion,” as well as cards that enable quick swapping like “Katheryne,” “Leave It To Me!,” “Changing Shifts,” and “Dawn Winery.”
These cards can be particularly useful for swiftly swapping to Amber to activate Baron Bunny and mitigate anticipated significant damage, thus turning the tide of the battle. Lastly, players may want to consider viable options for HP management, even though Amber provides damage mitigation, since the usage of Baron Bunny can be quite limited.
