All ten Elfins are useful in their unique ways, and will all prove to be a great asset in the first few stages after completing the tutorial, but for those players who want to stake their claim on the leaderboards and achieve the highest score possible ontheir favorite songs, there are some Elfins who will be much more worthwhile bringing along than some of the others.
Players should be encouraged to experiment with combining different character abilities with the buffs provided by the Elfins since it can drastically change the experience of a level or stage, but some pairs have proven to be incredibly effective at not only hitting high scores but also earning achievements which are needed to level up quickly.
7Girl In Black Marija & Rabot-233
This skin variant for Marija grants players a little more time to hit the “Perfect”, “Great”, and “Pass” prompts during each song, so when she is paired up with Rabot-233 who replaces each “Miss” with a “Great” up to 5 times, it becomes more challenging to actually miss a note rather than hitting one.
If players are near the point of giving up on some ofthe harder songslike ouroVoros and Kyoukiranbu, or if they are hoping to be filled with joy upon seeing the 100% accuracy on the result screen, this is the most reliable combo in the game to go with that can compensate for any big mistakes made throughout a song.
6Pilot Buro & Mio Sir
A very beginner-friendly combo, and one that’s perfect for grinding out levels early on, Pilot Buro and Mio Sir rely on the Fever Gauge to earn them the most points during a song, which activates automatically throughout each stage.
Pilot Buro will become invincible when bursting into Fever Mode, while Mio Sir extends the period of this mode for an extra 2 seconds, granting the player 8 whole seconds where they can try to elevate their score as much as they can without needing to worry about any enemies or bosses messing up their flow. While this pairing will cruise through some of the starting levels like Candyland with ease, it’s also worth taking them for a spin on harder maps too where their potential can really shine.
5Zombie Girl Buro & Thanatos
It’s already hard enough to keep Zombie Girl Buro down, considering her ability lets her come back alive after a 15-second delay once she dies in a stage, but Thanatos makes this even harder since the spooky Elfin will grant 2 seconds of invincibility with each Red Heart that is picked up by the player while they are alive.

As long as players aren’t trying to go forthe hidden achievement"Give Up Treatment," which is awarded by completing a level 7+ song without collecting Red Hearts, then this creepy duo will work especially well for earning plenty of achievements and as much EXP as possible. The lack of multiplier abilities means these two may not skyrocket players to the upper echelons of the leaderboards, but when it comes to earning items and unlocking everything, they are considered a must-use by many fans.
4Bassist Rin & Angela
Bassist Rin’sstaggering 300 HPalready makes her tanky enough, but she can become even more defensive when Angela is flying by her side and reducing the damage dealt to her by all enemies and obstacles that appear throughout a song. Rin will only take -6 damage from all sources when paired with Angela, meaning even if the player misses a few notes, they won’t need to worry about potentially dying and ruining their progress thus far.
While Girl in Black Majira can extend notes to make them easier to hit, Rin and Angela simply compensate for mistakes, so they’re perfect to use for practice on specific stages before the player tries upping their score with the more complex pairings later down the line.
3Joker Buro & Lilith
Joker Buro is all about racking up combos to multiply the final score, with her special ability multiplying a combo of 60 by 1.6 and a 70 combo by 1.7, resulting in a very impressive high score if the player is accurate enough. Lilith doesn’t directly affect the combos, but she will add a +5% extra score on any “Perfect” notes that are hit, which can very quickly rack up the numbers if the player is skilled with their rhythm and timing.

There are some fans who also combine this variant of Buro with Mio Sir who can extend the Fever Gauge for an extra 2 seconds, and while he can definitely help in raising the score, Lilith can prove to have a much bigger impact so long as the player knows the song well enough and remain consistent with their inputs.
2Bunny Girl Rin & Little Nurse
The aim of the game when playing as Bunny Girl Rin should always be to keep her at maximum HP so that she can gain 200% more score upon collecting Red Hearts in the stage, and from knocking back Ghosts and dodging barriers. The issue for many players who attempt to master a stage with this character is that they will become damaged at some point in the song, and may even give up entirely since this means they won’t be able to earn the maximum score possible.
Little Nurse is the perfect remedy to this problem as she canheal the characterwith +10 HP per second once they fall below 50 HP. Admittedly, this does mean players will need to be on top of their game for those intense 15 seconds while Rin’s health regenerates, but it can also become an essential lifeline for those who are desperately trying to make full use of her incredible abilities.
1Little Devil Marija & Lilith
Keeping the Little Devil version of Marija alive through a whole song can be a challenge in and of itself since her ability causes her to lose 10 HP per second, but she also gets 25% more score when knocking back all types of enemies, making her a fan favorite among top-level players who can handle this huge drawback. Still, this does also mean that Marija will take a staggering amount of damage on any song, so missing prompts really isn’t an option while playing her, unless she is paired up with Lilith.
Lilith’s abilities actually work a little differently when she is alongside Little Devil Marija, as rather than boosting the player’s score, she will instead provide +2 HP for every “Perfect” that the player achieves through the stage. This version of Marija is already the most popular character for highly skilled players, but keeping Lilith by her side helps to make her much more viable so that she has a much better time surviving through an entire song.
