Summary
Personas are one ofthe most important factorsto consider while playingPersona 3 Reload, as they are needed to face the threat of the shadows, and players need to ensure they have a good spread of Personas to strike the enemies' weak point, or they might find themselves in an unwinnable fight.
Alongside fusing collected Personas in the Velvet Room, players can also collect new Personas after successful fights that display a card with a Persona displayed on them. There are quite a few Personas players can capture in theThebel Block of Tartarus, and players should certainly prioritize certain ones above others.
6Pixie
Lovers Arcana
Pixie is one of the six Personas players can recruit during their exploration of the Thebel Block. She belongsto the LoversArcana, which is unlikely for players to unlock so early on, as they will need maximum charm to begin the corresponding Social Link. As such, players won’t get any additional bonus for fusing Lover Personas.
Pixie arrives with two skills, Dia and Pulinpa, both of which don’t deal direct damage to foes. While these skills sound like they could be useful, Yukari already comes with these skills, so it is more beneficial for players to focus on areas Junpei and Yukari don’t cover to ensure an even spread of buffing, damage, and utility.
5Angel
Justice Arcana
Angel is one of the Personas players will encounter fairly early during their exploration, with her main strength being that she isn’t weak to any of the elemental damages that enemies will dole out in the early game. However, that is where most of Angel’s usefulness lies.
She comes with Garu, whichSEES member Yukarialready has, and Sukukaja, a buffing ability to help accuracy and evasion, but with combat being so easy in the early game, such strong buffs are a little unnecessary and a waste of precious SP. Though some of her later skills may come in clutch, Angel is a little weaker compared to other Personas that can be acquired.
4Asparas
Priestess Arcana
Asparas is one of the first Personas players are likely toacquire through Shuffle Timeand may be one of the ones most worth keeping through the Thebel Block. Between the other two members of SEES players will explore with, Yukari handles wind damage, while Junpei can deal with fire, which leaves one of the major elements out: ice.
Mitsuru has some ice capabilities, but she won’t join the fight until much later in the game, leaving it up to the player to fill this niche. As Asparas arrives with this element ready to go, it makes her a worthwhile choice, as the player will encounter enemies only weak to ice. But since this is her only innate skill, there are better Personas with ice skills out there.
3Ari Mitama
Chariot Arcana
In later segments of Thebel, players will likely encounter the Persona Ari Mitama, which revolves mostly around utility and physical abilities that use the player’s HP rather than SP. It arrives with 3 innate skills, which means players are getting more bang for their buck, but these skills aren’t as useful as elemental ones, as those are what make up the weaknesses of most shadows.
However, as it is level 6, it is stronger than some of the other Personas, and the Rakukaja skill could help soak damage during the mini-boss fights players will need to overcome to explore more of the block. And if nothing else, Ari Mitama could be a goodoption for fusinginto a better, stronger Persona.
2Silky
Silky is another Persona players can acquire to fill in the missing nook ofice damage in the party. It’s also at a higher level than Asparas. What’s more, players will gain Bewilder, which they can use to try and distress a foe and throw them off their game.
In later levels, she can Sharp Student, which can help the player avoid sustaining critical damage and quickly turn the tides of a battle. This makes Silky a Persona players will want to keep on them for the early hours of the game.
1Forneus
Emperor Arcana
Forneus takes the crown asthe most usefulPersona players can acquire in the Thebel Block. It’s found on the later floors and comes with 3 innate skills: bufu for that all-important ice damage, bash to deal some physical damage, and tarukaja to increase attack.
As this Personas has an even spread of elemental, physical, and utility skills, it is a good all-around Persona to catch and is definitely the best players can acquire in the starting block of Tartarus.
