However, that’s set to change real soon, as Nintendo has detailed the next major content update that’s on the way forAnimal Crossing: New Horizons.

Animal Crossing: New Horizonsis getting a major content update on Thursday, April 23, which will include appearances by some new island visitors. After downloading the new update,Animal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers can look forward to visits from Leif, who will appear in the plaza and sell specialty plants from his Garden Shop, along with Jolly Redd, who appears in a ship on the coast.

Players can purchase shrubs (a new type of plant for the game) and other specialty plants fromLeif’s Garden Shop, whereas Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler sells artwork and furniture. It’s unclear exactly what day of the week these characters will visit one’s island, but more information should become available in the coming days.

Players can use the artwork they purchase from Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler to decorate their island, but they can also donate it to the museum. As previously leaked,Animal Crossing: New Horizonsis getting a museum expansionso that players can display all of the different kinds of artwork they’ve managed to collect in the game.

Nintendo also detailed some special events that will be happening inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsover the course of the next couple of months. The previously announcedEarth Day eventis called Nature Day, and it will be going live on April 23 along with the free content update. There will also be a May Day, International Museum Day, and Wedding Season events as well.

Since much of this information was previously leaked in a datamine, it seems safe to say that other features mentioned in the datamine are on the way as well. This would include the ability to grow vegetables, which could prove to be an interesting new feature forAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers.
