One of the most controversial and discussed aspects ofBlack Ops 4andBlack Ops 3was the specialist weapons. InBlack Ops 4the specialist weapons acted as an “ultimate” for each operator charging slowly throughout the match. According to leaker Tom Henderson, the specialist weapons will be making areturn inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War,but the weapons will not be earned in the same fashion. Instead they are taking the role of various scorestreak options for players to select. Henderson claims that there are 18 streaks inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War,but he lacks a full list.

It’s possible that there are 18 scorestreaks in the game, as it’s the same number found inBlack Ops 3.Henderson lists the Flamethrower, Hand Cannon, Bow, Grenade Launcher, and Death Machine as on the list, which makes for a powerful lineup. With several operator abilities not found on the list, fans have a good idea ofwhat content may be added toCold Warpost-release.

One interesting detail that Henderson provided on Twitter was a change inCall of Dutynorms regarding scorestreaks. For the first time inCall of Dutyhistory, new scorestreaks will be added throughout the game’s life. Henderson claims that there are “still several more streaks designed, but not yet implemented.”

Based on early reports, it seems thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill be transitioningback to the scorestreak system for this year’s game. This system provides points towards various scorestreaks for kills and objective play, as opposed to simply counting kills towards its result. No matter which scorestreaks make it into the game, many fans are simply relieved that the developers are returning to a more balanced scoring system.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris set to release on November 13th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
