The various ornaments available inDestiny 2have allowed the more fashionable players to give their exotic weapons a bit more flair, and Bungie is giving players the chance to choose which of three weapons will be getting a new ornament in the near future. It isn’t the first time the studio has given the community this power, with the previous community vote resulting in the Arbalest exotic linear fusion walking away the victor and set to receive the new ornament inSeason of the Deep. The new vote will follow the same structure as the previous one, starting with deciding which weapon will receive a new ornament from a studio-chosen community artist.
Ornaments made their debut in the originalDestiny’s final expansion,Rise of Iron, to add some flair to many of the exotic weapons available in the game. The feature found its way intoDestiny 2, expanding to include various legendary weapons and exotic armor pieces to give players even more options when customizing the physical appearance of their guardians. Subsequent seasons and expansions brought with them plenty more ornaments to pick up either through a stroke of luck when opening Bright Engrams or for a small Silver fee.

Bungie’s latest exotic ornament vote was announced in the This Week at Bungie post for the week of May 30, 2025, which will be designed by an unnamed community artist, at the time of writing. The weapons available to vote between are the Izangi’s Burden exotic sniper rifle,Thunderlord exotic machine gun, and Witherhoard exotic grenade launcher. While no timetable was given in the TWAB post for the first round of voting, Bungie hinted it will not be a fast process as it wants to give the artist enough time to create their ornament concepts.
As with the fan-votedArbalest exotic weaponornament, players will get to see the three potential weapon ornaments when Bungie determines which weapon in the current vote won. Players will then vote on these three weapon ornaments, ultimately determining which of these will be added to the game down the road. Given the community vote which ended with the Arbalest exotic ornament began in August 2022 and ended in December 2022, it would not be surprising if the current community vote doesn’t end until late summer or early fall.
The three weapons Bungie is having players vote between aren’t lacking for ornaments, with Witherhoard and Thunderlord already having four different ornaments to choose from.Izanagi’s Burdenisn’t far behind with three, though one of those is a community favorite in the Worldshaper due to it turning the sniper rifle into a Buster Sword. It remains to be seen which of these weapons the community ends up choosing, though, and what wild idea could emerge from the community artist tasked with designing the new ornaments.
Destiny 2is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
