Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayers have been given plenty of new content to try out with the arrival of Season 1, with returning features like the operator challenge system designed to keep fans engaged. However, theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warcommunity has shared frustrations with many of these challenges.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayers have been progressing through the Battle Pass faster due to the game’songoing Double Battle Pass XP event, unlocking numerous operator challenges to complete. With exciting rewards like moving calling cards and emblems as well as operator skins, it makes sense that many players would want to complete these challenges. However, one huge issue is forcing them to do something they do not want to do.

ManyCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayers are frustrated by the fact that they are not able to complete all of the game’s operator challenges in multiplayer. With many of the challenges directlytied toCall of Duty: Warzone, players who want to play the newBlack Opsgame exclusively are out of luck. In a Reddit post from h0sti1e17, the player pleads with Treyarch to “stop withWarzonechallenges,” citing how they “can’t get [their] Park challenges complete withoutWarzone.”

The player goes on to make a fair point about Zombies challenges being separate from multiplayer, suggesting that the same be done forCall of Duty: Warzone. This is an understandable request, as forcing players to do things like destroying vehicles or surviving to the end of a match in a completely separate game is a big ask. Players may not want to play the free-to-playCall of Dutytitle at the moment due toCall of Duty: Warzone’s game-breaking bugs, or they may just dislike battle royale games like h0sti1e17.

The Redditor shares that they have no issue withCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s seasonal challenges. While they may not “like” challenges that requiremodes like Fireteam Dirty Bombto be played, they understand because those are part of the same game. The issue lies solely with the operator challenges of the Season 1 Battle Pass, as these optional objectives are tasking players with spending time in a game they may not have any interest in playing.

However, without a separate Battle Pass forCall of Duty: Warzone, Activision seems to be in a tough spot when it comes to satisfying the fans of both active games. Even if a separate Battle Pass did exist for the battle royale game, players would likely call out an overuse ofmicrotransactions inCall of Duty, meaning that these shared Battle Pass challenges might be the lesser of two evils.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
