Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarandCall of Duty: Warzoneare both getting a heap of new content very soon. Treyarch released a major blowout of information alongside the team’sroadmap for Season 3 ofCold WarandWarzone, including tons of information on new multiplayer maps, additions to Zombies, and much more.
However, each and every new update always comes at the cost of precious memory space taken up by the new content being introduced, andCall of Dutygames are infamous for having massive file sizes. Now, Treyarch has also detailed the file sizes forBlack Ops Cold WarandWarzone’s Season 3 update across each platform, and thankfully they’re much more manageable this time around.

There has beenCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warand, more specifically,Warzoneupdates in the past that have gone above 50 GB in size, much to the chagrin ofCall of Duty’s player base. Thankfully, it looks like players, regardless of their platform of choice, won’t bedealing with any file sizes that massive. Once again, Treyarch has split the respective file sizes by game. ForBlack Ops Cold Warthe file sizes will range from 8.1 - 13.1 GB in size, while owners ofWarzonewill have downloads 25.2 - 25.9 GB in size.
The blog post also mentions a helpful reminder that theWarzoneupdate is not necessary for players who are only playingBlack Ops Cold War, which should save some players a nice bit of memory. So, whileWarzoneowners are going to have to download an additional 10 GB of data or so with this Season 3 update, the update files themselves are relatively manageable. Additionally, players will hopefully have a bit more free space coming off the back of the recentfile size reduction forWarzone.

Players won’t have to wait long at all for these updates to start rolling out across all platforms.Black Ops Cold War’s update will be available for players to download on April 20 at 9 PM PT, whileWarzone’s update will be available the following day on April 21 at 9 PM PT. While it’s a bit odd thatCall of Duty:Warzone’s update start timeis a day later thanBlack Ops Cold War’s,Warzoneplayers will only have to wait one extra day to get their hands on the new content coming to the game. On top of the additions to Zombies and the new multiplayer maps coming in Season 3, a variety of new weapons are being added to the game alongside a handful of new Operators.
Among the new Operators coming to the game is Captain Price, who is undoubtedly one of the most popularCall of Dutycharacters. Among thenew weapons coming in Season 3are the classic PPSh-41 SMG, the Swiss K31 sniper rifle, and the return of the fan-favorite Ballistic Knife melee weapon.Call of Duty: WarzoneandCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warare available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
