Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warhas a new bug that is preventing some players from accessing the game. While this is not the first major bug fans have experienced, it comes at a bad time, as Season 1 content has finally been launched.Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warfans are turning to Treyarch for answers before they fall behind on the new game content.
The bug appears as “Error Code Zed 398 Swift Clover” and isfrustrating thousands of fans inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.While the bug seems to be only appearing on PC versions of the game, players are left with few answers as to how to deal with the growing problem.

TheCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warbugis known by Treyarch. On Twitter, the developers announced that they are actively investigating the problem with the partner studio Beenox. For the moment, the developers have disabled crossplay on PC to maintain healthy and full lobbies for the unaffected community. As the developers work on the problem, information regarding the bug is slowly being uncovered by fans as they share stories of the bug via social media.
The Zed 398 Swift Clover error is a commonproblem inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.The bug mainly appears on the PC version of the game when a player attempts to matchmaker into a multiplayer lobby. As they join the match, the error code appears and kicks them back to the lobby resulting in a lock that prevents any and all online play.
The developers hope that disabling PC crossplay will resolve parts of the issue. Once Treyarch has a solution,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayerscan return to the battlefield with the other platforms. It is important to note that only the core game is being affected as players are still able to accessWarzonethrough the multiplayer menu.
There is currently no workaround for the bug. Players will need to wait for the developer patch to appear, which could be a matter of hours, days, or even longer. Until then, players will have to progress theirbattle pass throughCall of Duty: Warzoneuntil the developers have a solution to this persisting lobby issue. Do note that all progression inCall of Duty: Warzonedoes level and progress the player’sCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warprofile and level.
