As Season 1 ofModern Warfare 3approaches its conclusion,Call of Dutyhas announced its next big crossover, this time with the popular zombie apocalypse TV showThe Walking Dead.Call of Dutyreleased a YouTube video that recreatesThe Walking Dead’s classic show opener using shots from what looks to be MWZ’s Urzikstan map with the same grimy sepia filter and iconic music. The trailer included photo appearances ofThe Walking Dead’s two most integral characters, Rick and Michonne, as well as an appearance fromModern Warfare 3’s own Vladimir Makarov.

The Walking Deadfeatures a wealth of awesome charactersto choose from, but seeing that theseCall of Dutycollabs typically only bring in two operators at a time, it’s fitting that Rick and Michonne will be the ones as leaders of the show’s ensemble. It may be possible that this could become an ongoing partnership withThe Walking Deadwhich sees even more characters from the show join the game’s roster in future seasons, similar to howThe Boysreturned with A-Train and Firecracker. The trailer also seems to possibly be hinting at some sort ofWalking Dead-themed refresh or event coming to MWZ, which would make complete sense, though what exactly that may entail remains a mystery.
