Those buying the Xbox One or Xbox Series X versions ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2may be disappointed to learn that they are unable to disable crossplay.Crossplay was introduced to theCall of Dutyfranchisea few years ago, giving PC, PlayStation, and Xbox gamers the opportunity to play with each other. There are those who enjoy crossplay, as it allows them to play with their friends regardless of their platform of choice, but there are others who aren’t fans of the feature and would rather keep it disabled.
There are many arguments against crossplay, like in games that allow PC gamers to use a mouse and keyboard setup while those on console are stuck using controllers. Cheating is far more prevalent with PC games than it is on consoles as well, and so crossplay potentially exposes console gamers to more cheating than they would run into if they kept the feature turned off. Those on PS4 and PS5 can turn offCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2multiplayer crossplay whenever they’d like, but those on PC and Xbox do not have the option to do so at the time of this writing.
