Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 (Out Now)

Call of Duty: Warzonejust launched Season 6 of its integration withBlack Ops Cold War, and withCall of Duty: Vanguard’s release dateright around the corner, it seems likely that Season 6 will be the last joint season betweenWarzoneandBlack Ops.

Call of Duty: WarzoneSeason 6 comes with some massive changes to the battle royale’s Verdansk map, helping to set the stage for theCall of Duty: Vanguardlaunch.Call of Duty: Warzone’s Downtown has been ravaged by fissuresas of the Season 6 update, plus World War 2 bunkers can be found around the map.Call of Duty: Vanguardis set during World War 2, so the bunkers are a way to tease the new content coming to the game soon.

One of the more notable changes made toCall of Duty: Warzonewith the Season 6 update is the return of the original Gulag. Activision has brought theoriginal Gulag back toCall of Duty: Warzoneas part of Season 6, making one minor change by adding new lockers where players spawn. These new lockers are meant to give players a new sightline that wasn’t available with the original version of the Gulag.

AsCall of Duty: WarzoneSeason 6goes on, fans can expect new Operators, weapons, and more to be added to the game. Activision hasn’t revealed exactly when all of htis content will be coming toWarzonespecifically, but it has confirmed the start date for the upcoming Halloween event.

Call of Duty: Warzone - The Haunting (October 19)

Like last year,Call of Duty: Warzoneis celebrating Halloween with aspecial event called The Haunting, which starts October 19 and ends on November 2. The Haunting will alter theCall of Duty: Warzonebattle royale map to give it a more Halloween feel, plus it will be adding other content appropriate for the Halloween season. Specific details on exactly what The Haunting is bringing to the table this year have yet to be shared by Activision, but leaks have potentially let the cat out of the bag early.

If the leaks are to be believed,Call of Duty: Warzoneis adding a Ghostface skin, based on the killer from the horror movie franchiseScream. A glitch inCall of Duty: Warzonehas actually made Ghostface appear in the lobby already for some players, so the character’s addition to the battle royale is just a matter of Activision making the announcement. Another leak has suggested that the rabbit fromDonnie Darkowill also be featured as aWarzoneskin, though there is less evidence proving that is true.

Last year’s Halloween event saw Activision alter theCall of Duty: Warzonebattle royale map to include new areas based on horror franchises likeSawandThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It will be interesting to see if something similar happens with The Haunting 2021.

Call of Duty: Warzone Vanguard Integration

Call of Duty: Warzoneintegrated itself withCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwhen that game launched last year, and it will be doing the same withCall of Duty: Vanguard. It’s unclear exactly whenCall of Duty: Warzone’sVanguardintegrationwill take place, though it’s unlikely to happen right when the new game launches since it will be in the middle of Season 6. The more likely scenario is that theCall of Duty: VanguardWarzoneintegration will take place at the end of November or sometime in December.

Call of Duty: Warzone’sVanguardintegration will see Operators fromVanguardadded to theWarzonebattle royale, along with weapons introduced inVanguard. This means that a host ofWorld War 2-era weaponswill be coming to theCall of Dutybattle royale. This has potential to drastically change the meta, asCall of Duty: Vanguardweapons can have up to 10 attachments in some cases.

There was some controversy whenCall of Duty: Warzoneintegrated withBlack Ops Cold War, so it will be interesting to see what happens when the BR links up withVanguard.

Call of Duty: Warzone New Map

One of the most exciting things coming toCall of Duty: Warzonein the next couple of months is a brand new large scale map.Call of Duty: Warzoneis getting a new map based on the Pacific Theater of World War 2, transporting players to a tropical area that should be a significant departure from what they’re used to with Verdansk. This newCall of Duty: Warzonemap marks the first new large scale map that the game has seen since launch, and it could be just what it needs to not only keep longtime fans engaged but bring lapsed players back into the fold as well.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
