Gameplay footage ofCrash Team Rumblehas leaked online following a preview event hosted by Activision and Toys for Bob to announce the beta and release date for the upcoming MOBA-style game.Crash Team Rumblewas first revealedat The Game Awards in December 2022 after months of leaks rumors about the next entry into theCrash Bandicootseries. Up until the official announcement, the then-rumored game had been referred to asCrash Wumpa Leagueas per the leaks which somewhat accurately described the upcoming title as a multiplayer party game.Crash Team Rumblewill be the first game to feature the titular Crash Bandicoot and his pals since thewell-receivedCrash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Timewhich released in 2020 after a long hiatus for the series, not counting theCrash Bandicoot N. Sane TrilogyandCrash Team Racing Nitro Fueledsince they are remasters of the first fourCrashgames that launched exclusively on the original Sony PlayStation. The footage reveals the closing moments of a match where the player is controlling Crash, frantically trying to collect Wumpa fruits while avoiding a pursuing Dingodile and what appears to be an enemy-activated Nitrous Oxide UFO that roams the battlefield blasting allied players with its laser beam. Other characters like Coco Bandicoot and Neo Cortex can also be seen in the arena along with a second Dingodile and an enemy Tawna Bandicoot. The original source of the leak appears to be IGN Italy, though more gameplay footage has also been revealed by YouTuber Canadian Guy Eh who has also promised to make a detailed analysis video.
The leaked gameplay footage seems to be divisive among fans of theCrash Bandicootseries. Some have expressed excitement while others are less enthused, presumably because they had hoped for another mainline installment. There are also those who believe thatCrash Team Rumbleshould be free to playlike most other MOBA-style games rather than carrying the $29.99 price tag.
Regardless,Crash Team Rumblewill be released in June 2023and pre-purchasing the game will give players access to the closed beta which will be held from April 20 to June 19, 2025. There is also a Deluxe Edition available for pre-purchase that contains all the content from the Standard Edition as well as Premium Battle Pass for the first two seasons with 25-tier instant unlocks for Season One.
Crash Team Rumblewill officially launch on July 25, 2025, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
