As such, V can uncover some truly ghastly sights and missions, and as Night City’s newest merc, there are bound to be some true horrors that they will uncover through the underbelly of the city’s gangs and criminals.
Night City harbors some dark secrets, and the darkestCyberpunk 2077quests often involve sensitive subject matters and truly morbid dilemmas that will have players questioning their anchor on reality for the harsh themes that they will witness from within the bowels of Night City.
9Chippin’ In
Attend A Personal Memorial For Johnny Silverhand
After trusting Johnny enough to develop a relationship with Rogue, she reveals that there’s a way to get to Adam Smasher. V and Rogue will head to the Night City dock and find Smasher’s ship, as well as some hired goons, the most important being Jeremiah Grayson, who proudly uses Silverhand’s old gun. Faced with death, Jeremiah reveals where Silverhand’s body is buried, and V and Johnny set out to uncover it so that he can be remembered properly.
Heading out to the oil fields, there’s nothing, no marker, no indication that Silverhand is underneath this rubble. His corpse was tossed like used trash. It’s a moment where Johnny and V can bond, and memorialize who Johnny is, not just to the world, but to V. Silverhand could be the guy that saved V’s life, and whilst it’s a dark quest, there’s a bright spark of hope between two friends in resolution.

Stop Maelstrom From Forcing Cyberware On A Monk
Cruelty and Night City go hand-in-hand, and when V ventures to the Cargo Bay area, they discover a monk covered in cyberware, distressed about his situation due to the fact that it’s against his religion to have cyberware. The monk begs for V’s help, as his brother has been taken captive by Maelstrom, and is going to have the same thing happen to him unless someone intervenes.
Night City is not a kind place, so the fact that V helps is a blessing rarely seen. V can stop theseMaelstrom membersand do a good deed, but the damage is done, this poor monk is stuck with cyberware, with nothing able to revert back to organics, thus squandering his religious aspects and shunning him.

Say Goodbye To Johnny Silverhand, Cyberware, & Friends To Start Anew
V has been given a second chance at life thanks to helping the NUSA secure Songbird alive. No matter her fate, V finally has a chance to be rid of the Relic that is slowly killing them. Yet, is it worth it? Before calling Solomon Reed to go under surgery with the best surgeons in the entire world, Johnny implores V to find another way, because this surgery willrip him out of V’s head like a tumor, with no regard for his own human wants.
Nevertheless, if V goes ahead with this quest, then he will wake up 2 years later, with the bad news that although the operation is successful, he’s as alone as ever. Night City has changed, his friends and loved ones have moved on, and any cyberware will kill him. It’s a dark fate and begs the question of whether V’s third chance at life is even worth it as they become another face in the crowd of the bustle of Night City.

Save Evelyn From Becoming A Victim Of X-BDs
The story of Evelyn Parker is one steeped in tragedy. V and Judy Alvarez will take different leads across the slums of Night City in search of Evelyn, only to discover that she’s been sold like a used toy, given to the Scavs for their sick and twisted X-BDs, which involve true cruelty put to film. V needs to embark on the abyss and save her if they are going to find answers and save Evelyn.
Inside, V will find all the messed up things that the Scavs do for Eurodollars. It’s sick and twisted, and definitely one of thedarkest aspects ofCyberpunk 2077. The fact that this gang strips people of their chrome, and subjects them to torture and abuse to film it, shows the depravity of this dystopian society.
5Dirty Biz
Stop A Father & Son’s X-BD Business
Receiving a gig from Regina Jones, V needs to head into Scav territory and find the raw BD involving the murder of Bryce Stone’s son, which is currently being edited by sick and twisted people for an underground profit. Heading to this guarded facility, V will discover that the editors in charge of these evil BDs are a father and son, and their fate is within V’s hands.
V can kill either the father or the son, both, or neither, but the only goal is to get the BD and get out of there. It’s an evil world out there, and Night City is a festering hellhole. Will V allow Night City to remain in this position, or will they teach both of these men a lesson in cruelty?

Discover A Sinister Plot To Control The Minds Of Politicians
V has developed a rather appropriate working relationship with the Peralez family, and they have requested their help one more time for a true mystery that needs uncovering. Jefferson Peralez is a wanted target due to the fact that he is in the running to be the next Night City mayor. The city may finally see change, void of corruption, but there are those in the world with far more power than a mayor, and they’re doing their best to hide that.
V will uncover a plot to control the minds of the Peralez family, through wavelengths, the foods they eat, and the things they say. Elizabeth and Jefferson have no idea that they are being watched, and their memories altered, until it’s already too late. This operation is being led by the elusive Mr. Blue Eyes, and no matter what V tells Jefferson, it’s already too late, and the lives of the Peralez family are no longer their own, but the will of something darker.

Detain Or Free Songbird, Who’s Story Mirrors V’s
The relationship between V and Songbird is one of desperation and a mutual desire to live. Yet, Songbird can’t be trusted, and if players choose to side with Solomon Reed, they will see the extent of Songbird’s desperation as she taps into the Blackwall to unleash devastating powers. Somewhat Damaged has V terrorized by Rogue AIs that want them dead, all whileV searches for the host, Songbird.
When finding Songbird, V discovers that her mind is deteriorating, and like V, she’s going to lose her mind to something else. Trapped in her head, void of her memories and thoughts, a vessel for Rogue AIs to take hold, it’s a fate worse than death, and one she doesn’t want. V can help free her by letting her die, or trap her within her mind to bargain with NUSA. It’s one of the darkest and most emotional missions players must face inPhantom Liberty.
2They Won’t Go When I Go
Bare Witness To A Religious Crucifixion
V has been privy to some pretty weird characters in Night City, but none have decided to crucify themselves. In conversing with Joshua Stephenson, V will discover that this man was a killer, and he believes that he can repent by showing humanity God, and by crucifying himself in order to seek redemption for his sins, like Jesus Christ. This act of sinister nobility is manipulated by a BD producer, who wants to film it for a new hit.
Joshua has his doubts and asks for V’s presence, to which V can help be there for Joshua’s last moments. It’s a dark mission in which V will be the one to nail Joshua’s hands and feet to a cross, participating in his last moments through a religious crucifixion that will certainly cause discomfort for players.
1The Hunt
Find Missing Boys From A Serial Killer’s Hideout
The Hunt will have players’ skin crawling upon a mere mention. This mission sees V team up with River Ward again, who begs for help in locating his nephew, who he believes has been groomed and kidnapped by the notorious Peter Pan serial killer, real name, Anthony Harris. Harris was caught and is now in a coma, so where he has hidden his victims is a mystery, but V and Ward are on the case.
The quest delves into Anthony Harris’ mind, discovering his memories and the abuse that led him down this twisted path to kidnap young and vulnerable boys. The mission eventuallytakes players to Edgewood Farm, surrounded by turrets and mines to hide the victims inside, who are drugged up and forced to eat cattle feed until they die.
