Cyberpunk 2077is just five days away from launching worldwide and while there has been quite a lot of promotion and fan hype surrounding it, there hasn’t been much by way of reviews for the game. Considering thatCyberpunk 2077is a large, extensive experience, it will take some time for reviewers to play enough of the game to give a comprehensive review. However, it seems that most reviewers don’t have access to the game yet.

Game publishers issue review embargos that forbid gaming media outlets from posting game reviews until a certain date. This is likely true ofCyberpunk 2077as well, withCD Projekt Redalso asking streamers that get it early not to stream the game until launch.

Now members of various gaming news outlets, such as Ryan Brown, have noticed that multiple members of the press have yet to receive review copies ofCyberpunk 2077. For some fans, this might come off as concerning, especially considering thata developer ofCyberpunk 2077sank 175 hours into the gameand still isn’t finished with the game.

Greg Miller of Kinda Funny Games also commented saying that many people have accused the media outlet for “hidingCyberpunk,” but he also insinuates that he and his colleagues just don’t have access to the game. Many members of the gaming community have compared the size ofCyberpunk 2077’smap against some of the biggest maps in gamingand is quite formidable in terms of reviewing in that regard.

All of this to say, this could have some rather concerning ramifications in the coming days. It seems likely that at least some members of the press possess review copies of the game, but it seems hard to believe that those who haven’t received review copies yet will be able to post accurate and informative reviews byCyberpunk 2077’slaunch day.

There has to be at least some members of the press who have access to the game, in which case there will hopefully be some reviews available at or even before launch. Fans will find out onceCyberpunk 2077finally launches next week.

Cyberpunk 2077is set to launch on December 10th, 2020 on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S adaptations currently in development.
