Summary
CD Projekt Red added an impressive Ken Block tribute toCyberpunk 2077, as recently spotted by one eagle-eyed fan. The heartfelt Easter egg is part of thecomprehensive 2.0 update forCyberpunk 2077, which launched on September 21.
Ken Block died in a snowmobile accidentin early January, aged 55. That tragedy put an end to his illustrious career that started with rally racing and evolved into the ownership of Hoonigan Industries, a California-based automotive apparel and media company. Due to Block’s long track record of gaming collaborations, many game developers and gamers alike went on to pay respects to the legendary rally driver in a variety of creative ways following the news of his death.

CD Projekt Red has now added to that list of interactive tributes by designing aCyberpunk 2077car that’s heavily inspired by the Hoonigan Ford “Hoonicorn” Mustang RTR, one of the most iconic vehicles ever driven by Block. The machine in question, first spotted by Reddit user hoonyosrs, appears to be a unique variant ofCyberpunk 2077’sQuadra Type-66. While not a exact replica of the Hoonicorn, likely due to licensing reasons, its overall design is instantly evocative of the iconic rally ride, not least because of its black-green color palette and chassis shape.
Ditto for the abundant advertising displayed on the side of the vehicle, as well as the prominently featured “43” sticker that corresponds to Block’s car number. Flanking that figure from the right is a “K.B. 67-23” tagline referencing the rally driver’s years of birth and death. The vehicle itself is called the Type 66 Hoon, with its discoverer reporting that they stumbled upon it in a Northside warehouse while doing the Epistrophy side quest, which sees V help Delamain recover a number of rogue AI cabs.
That notwithstanding, early player reports suggest that the Type 66 Hoon can always be found in that location following the release of the 2.0 update, irrespective of any missions. Moreover, the car isn’t merely drivable, but also ownable. To add it to V’s garage,Cyberpunk 2077players only need to find its keys, which are hidden in a box below a sloped plate located in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle.
This heartfelt addition toCyberpunk 2077is the first game developer tribute to the legendary rally driver sinceForza Horizon 5honored Ken Blockwith a variety of Hoonigan-branded equipment and a drivable version of the Hoonicorn back in January. The car itself is also the eighth variant of the Quadra Type-66 that’s now available in the hit RPG.
Cyberpunk 2077is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, while its 2.0 update is exclusive to PC and current-gen consoles.
