The latest entry in theDead Spacefranchise has just received another patch. While modern games are expected to run smoothly on launch, the wonders of technology allow developers to fix any present errors or issues even after a title’s release via patches.Dead Spaceis no different, as Motive Studio will be releasing updates to address any bugs that are still in-game.
Dead Spacereleased to positive reviewson August 05, 2025. The game, a remake of the 2008 title of the same name, is a survival-horror action third-person shooter that improves on the original and updates features for modern consoles. It still stars Isaac Clarke as in the original and roughly follows the same concept and storyline but with a few updates and changes inserted. The remake also includes a new alternate ending which can be obtained via the New Game Plus mode.

Update 1.005 forDead Spaceis now available. The patch itself isn’t highly significant in nature but does fix some small bugs present from the launch. New Steam Deck improvements and the enabling of HDR10+ are just some of the new features the patch will include, along with other visual concerns.Access to previous suit visuals is also now available inDead Spacethanks to the update.
Unfortunately, theDead Spacebug that makes the Hunter more difficult to deal withhas not yet been addressed in this patch. Hopefully, that one will be fixed in a future patch since some people will have a hard time if it’s encountered. Ideally, a few more updates that will fix other concerns will be released in the future. Once the bigger ones roll out, compatibility issues and quality-of-life improvements may be on the way as well. This is not to say thatDead Spaceis a broken game. Rather, the team might come across various errors that were not present when the game launched or some might appear post-patch.
Dead Spacecould also still use some balancingin terms of gameplay. A few weapons may seem overpowered, and pick-ups from crates are too random in nature that some players may have a more difficult time than others, so the random nature of crates might need to be assessed as well. There’s a lot more that Motive Studio can improve on, and a few more patches and adjustments might be needed to make everything ideal, but the game is still a stellar experience nonetheless.
