Bungie confirms the use of glimmer and seasonal engrams for engram focusing going forward, so players have fewer currencies and engram drops to worry about. These changes will be also present in season 21, which is now called Season of the Deep.

Destiny 2players will receive singular keys throughout their playtime to use on chests found at the end of seasonal activities in Season of Defiance and Season of the Deep. These keys may drop from seasonal activities, so players may solely focus on Season of Defiance and Season of the Deep activities if desired. Season of the Deep and season 22 will not feature a vendor upgrade system as Bungie explores “more fresh activity experiences” like Season of the Lost’s Shattered Realm andSeason of the Chosen’s Battlegrounds. These new seasons will continue to share Lightfall’s “tonal variety,” according to Bungie.

Bungie did not share further details aboutDestiny 2’supcoming seasons aside from its actual names and various quality-of-life improvements. However, Bungie is taking player feedback seriously to ensure these seasons have unique and exciting content with less emphasis on the vendor upgrade system. The developers at Bungie appear to understand the need for fresh new content and in-game systems that do not become monotonous in the long term.

Destiny 2season 22 plansare already underway at Bungie with more changes and content to come. For now, players should prepare their vaults, gather glimmer and legendary shards, and acquire any last remaining weapon patterns before the Lightfall expansion arrives.
