Gamers online are sharing their frustrations about the amount of health that the newer bosses inDestiny 2have. This is a problem that many games suffer from, and thebosses inDestiny 2are no exception, even six years after release.
Critical reception of the recentDestiny 2expansion Lightfall was mixed at best, with many feeling it was merely a stop-gap before next year’s The Final Shape update. Unfortunately, the story fell flat for many players, and while the quality-of-life changes were strong, they could have been included in a smaller update. Theexpansions forDestiny 2are currently at a discountfor a limited time, including Lightfall, so there are still opportunities to try it without a massive financial commitment.

Fans are not happy with the enormous amount of HP that the bosses inDestiny 2’s Lightfall expansion seem to have in the endgame. It’s a common frustration with the game - rather than design a boss that challenges players mechanically, the game often instead ramps up the difficulty by simply giving the boss a crazy amount of HP. Plenty of MMOs suffer from the same issue. Of course, there will always be players who figure outways to cheese bosses inDestiny 2with incredible builds, but the average player will just endure the bullet-sponge bosses and likely get frustrated about it.
As more and more players reach theendgame inDestiny 2, it becomes essential for the health of the game that the content is interesting and engaging to play for long periods. Fans have offered some interesting solutions for potential bosses. One user gave the idea to “chase a boss,” meaning that players should have to use the vertical elements of the map in order to deal damage to bosses. There are plenty of routes that Bungie could take, and hopefully the studio address the complaints in The Last Shape.
Despite the disappointing Lightfall expansion,Destiny 2remains in great shape. It boasts a massive player base that continues to enjoy the game and its content. The decision to make the base game ofDestiny 2free-to-play has had a massive impact, reducing the barrier to entry for many gamers out there. Plans post-The Last Shape are currently unknown, but hopefully Bungie continues to support the title for many years to come.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
