How to Get Whisper of the Worm
Whisper of the Worm used to be obtainable from the Monument of the Lost Light in the Tower whenThe Whisper missionwas originally sunset. However, the Into the Light update has brought this mission back and players can obtain this Exotic by completing The Whisper mission on normal or Legendary difficulty.
However, to unlock perks to put on the crafted version of Whisper of the Worm and to unlock its catalyst, players must complete the Exotic mission on Legendary difficulty. About 4Legendary runsof The Whisper mission are required for Whisper of the Worm to be fully customizable.
Whisper of the Worm Overview
Whisper of the Worm is a Solar Heavy Ammo Sniper Rifle that comes with the Exotic Intrinsic Trait called “White Nail.” It allows the weapon to get higher base precision damage. Rapidly landing three precision hits will refill the magazine. This allows Whisper of the Worm to do sustained heavy damage to bosses without reloading.
Whisper of the Worm also has an Exotic Catalyst called Whispered Breathing. What this does is aiming this weapon without firing for a brief moment grants bonus Range and precision damage while this weapon is zoomed. It is essential to have the Catalyst unlocked to bring the maximum damage.
Whisper of the Worm Perks
With Whisper of the Worm being Craftable, it has now gotten brand-new perks instead of only having one perk in the original version. It is now able to roll with:

Whisper of the Worm shines in long damage phases. The main goal is to take advantage of White Nail and keep landing Precision hits so that players will never have to reload. This alongside Whispered Breathing just synergizes extremely well to provide extra damage.
Now, this Exotic should be crafted in a way that synergizes this playstyle. For the barrel, we can use Corkscrew Rifling or Fluted Barrel as they will increase the Handling of the weapon. Handling plays an important role as it dictates how quickly players can aim down sight with a weapon.
For Magazine, players can go with Flared Magwell, as it is the highest stat bump. Players can go for Accurized Round, but Range on a Sniper Rifle is not that important. For Stocks, Short-Action Stock is the best option thanks to the massive +15 Handling boost it provides.
The perk to go for is undoubtedly Field Prep thanks to the increased ammo reserves it provides. It also increases the aiming down sight speed when players are crouched, which just makes it a better perk option over the other three and also synergizes well with the gameplay loop.
