Another week during the Season of the Haunted inDestiny 2and another major piece of news came down unrelated to gameplay. Earlier this year, copyright strikes began hitting many Destiny conent creators seemingly at random. While Bungie resolved the issue fairly quickly, it turns out that the root cause was due to a YouTuber named Lord Nazo, who mimicked the official IP Protection Service CSC Global.Bungie is now taking action over the damages caused, suing Lord Nazo for $7.6 million.

In terms of actual gameplay, trauma is a big part of the core themes this season, as players work to help majorNPC characters like Crow and Zavala deal with their past. This week saw Cabal Empress Caiatl face off against Dominus Ghaul, former Warlord and perpetrator of the Red War. Many fans of the game have found that these stories really resonate on a deeper level or perhaps dug up sensitive memories, which has prompted Bungie to provide additional resources for those who may need it to help with their mental health.

In the meantime, the weekend merchant Xur is back again inDestiny 2. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of July 12, 2025.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can find Xur back inside the Tower Hangar.

As usual, fast travel to the main Tower location and head left into the Hangar. Once there, take another left and move past the Dead Orbit section to find a metal staircase. Move up the stairs to find Xur on a platform overlooking the mountain range off in the distance.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Destiny 2 Merciless

Exotic Armor

Eye of Another World - Warlock helmet

Back again this month is the Eye of Another World and not much has changed since it was on sale a few weeks back. The Cerebral Uplink perk which highlights priority targets while also improving the regeneration speed of the grenade, melee, and Rift abilities.

Overall, it’s a decent option for PvE or PvP. When using mods that target regeneration rates, this exotic can help players get their abilities much faster than normal. It’s not a must have item, but it can be a decent choice. It’s worth noting that this item doesn’t actually provide wall hacks like the Nightstalker Hunter gets, only visible enemy targets are highlighted in red. The stat roll for this week is pretty solid with a total of 65 so it may be worth a look.

Destiny 2 Hawkmoon Hand Cannon

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Gwisin Vest - Hunter chest armor

Spectral Blade Hunters should take note this week as the Gwisin Vest is again on sale. The main reason is due to its intrinsic perk called Roving Assassin. While the super is active, each spectral blade kill lets the player vanish and gain more super energy, making it last longer than normal.

The Dead Man’s Tale exotic scout rifle from Destiny 2.

Considering the benefits of this exotic gear, it is a solid choice for Nightstalker Spectral Blade hunters, so it’s worth owning. However, this one may be worth picking up this week as it works well withBungie’s Void 3.0 update. The stat roll this week is extremely high at a total of 67 with bonuses to Resilience and Strength. As such, it’s worth a pick up for the roll alone.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

Citan’s Ramparts - Titan leg armor

With the perk Assault Barricade, it allows allies to shoot through the Titan’s Towering Barricade. The downside is that the barricade’s health and duration is lower than normal.

Naturally, this item likely won’t be for everyone as it only impacts a very small portion of the Titan player, though it can be awelcomed item for PvP activities. Not everyone uses the Towering Barricade, which makes this item useless for those players. Still, it does have its uses under the right circumstances. Unfortunately, the roll this week isn’t great as not only is it the lowest roll, it comes in at only 59.

Exotic Weapon

The Merciless fusion rifle is back on sale this weekend. For those who missed it, it is a heavy weapon that has high damage output, especially against a single target. It’s a solid choice regardless of the mode, though Nightfalls and strikes make it a powerful choice.

Conserve Momentum continually charges the weapon faster when players get non-lethal hits, with the cycle resetting once the final kill is achieved. Pair that with its other perk, Impetus, players gain increased damage for a short time after quickly reloading following a kill.

Additional perks:

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions,Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
