Diablo 4quickly became one of 2023’s most critically acclaimed games this past June.Season of the Malignantcontinues the main story just one month after the game’s launch with several new pieces of content. Players must face a new form of Lilith’s corruption known as the Malignance, a growing infestation of monsters that mindlessly attack any person within sight. A new questline tasks players with aiding Cormond, a former priest of the Cathedral of Light, in finding the source of the Malignance and ending its spread. Players may experience unusually long queue times while attempting to log in and playDiablo 4’s new Season 1 contentaccording to Blizzard’s official Customer Support Twitter account. Blizzard is currently investigating and working on the issues affectingDiablo 4and the login process. Further, someDiablo 4players who managed to log in have already begun submitting additional feedback due to encountering bugs and issues during their Season 1 playthrough.

Some users report the inability tocreate a new seasonal character for Season 1due toDiablo 4freezing or crashing during the character creation process, while strange invisible barriers are preventing other players from progressing through Cormond’s questline. Blizzard further acknowledged the long queue times, crashing issues, and invisible barriers in the replies section of its tweet, but an estimated time for aDiablo 4update was not given.

Unfortunately, the launch ofDiablo 4’s first seasonappears to be affecting many fans who didn’t encounter login issues or bugs after the game’s initial release last month. The extent of these issues has caused some fans to argue that Season 1’s launch is worse thanDiablo 4’slaunch. As a result,Diablo 4players may want to wait for an update before creating a Season 1 character in order to avoid crashes and other game-breaking issues.

At the very least, Blizzard is investigating and documenting the issues thatDiablo 4players have recorded and shared online during Season 1. Regularly sharing status updates and support information with theDiablo 4community may help Blizzard earn some goodwill as the team continues to work toward solutions.

Diablo 4is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
