A newDisney Dreamlight Valleyupdate might be coming sooner than expected, and it seems fans will finally be able to earn free Moonstones weekly.Disney Dreamlight Valleyis still in paid early access, but according to the developers, the game should go free to play later this year. For now, it’s only available to those who have purchased aDisney Dreamlight ValleyFounder’s Packor downloaded it through Game Pass.Like many live-service games, in the long run, the main objective will be to earn money through microtransactions, especially once it fully launches and leaves early access. The game’s currency is called Moonstones, and unfortunately, they are quite hard to obtain. So even though they’re quite expensive, many players simply resort to purchasing them with real money or collecting them very slowly through daily chests. Many gamers believe thatDisney Dreamlight Valleyadding microtransactions before its full releasewas a bad move, particularly because many of its players have already paid to try out the game before it’s complete.RELATED:Disney Dreamlight Valley Players Are Not Happy About ‘Disrespectful’ Moonstone PricesThankfully, it seems that there might soon be a way for gamers to get free Moonstones more efficiently. The officialDisney Dreamlight ValleyTwitter account announced that a small update titled DreamSnaps will be coming to the game soon. Players will be able to participate in photography-based weekly challenges, vote for their favorite photos, and win items in-game as well as some free Moonstones.
For now, this information is all that’s known about the upcoming update. Hopefully, the Moonstones that fans will be able to obtain will be significant enough to make it more sustainable for gamers to purchase items from the Premium Shop or getDisney Dreamlight Valley’s Star Path.
The decision to put this feature in the game might be related to theintroduction of Dream Bundles toDisney Dreamlight Valley. Even though some fans were happy to know that they would be receiving more content for the game, it also created some backlash since it was the first time that quests were locked behind a paywall. The first Dream Bundle, the Dapper Wall-E Dream Bundle, costs 4,000 Moonstones, an amount that corresponds to about $15. Players who purchase the bundle will get access to four friendship quests, one Dream Style for Wall-E, five articles of clothing, and one piece of furniture. Many believed that $15 was an outrageous amount to pay for this content, but thankfully, with the implementation of DreamSnaps, it should be much easier to get Moonstones without spending as much real money.
Disney Dreamlight Valleyis available in early access on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
