Four years after its initial release,Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2is receiving yet another DLC character pack, this time featuring the anime only and cult favorite character, Pikkon.
Announced in this month’s issue of V-Jump magazine, the Pikkon DLC forDragon Ball Xenoverse 2includes a few other new additional character costumes for players fromDragon Ball Super: Broly.

A character only seen in the anime version of the story, Pikkon was an adversary turned friend of Goku’s as he entered the Otherworld tournament shortly after the Cell Saga. The story arc involved a tournament with a wide range of odd characters and also featured thereturn of villains Friezaand Cell, though only briefly. Pikkon quickly became a fan favorite despite not being a character in the manga with the character utilizing the Hyper Tornado attack, a move that caught Goku off guard initially.
The free DLC will also include a new follower minion with the addition of a Janemba CC Mascot. Fans will also be able to don the armor of bothBardock and Gine from theDragon Ball Super: Brolyfilm. While outfits for the characters are already in the game, the new ones are updated to reflect their look in the latest movie released in 2018 in Japan and 2019 elsewhere.
The DLC will be the 12th content drop forXenoverse 2since it’s release in 2016. While the base game featured a ton of characters from the series, the DLC added manycharacters from theDragon Ball Superstorylineas it was released including Frost, Champa, and Rosé Goku Black. Locations from theSuperarc were also added as arenas giving players ample opportunities to recreate their favorite fights from the show.
In 2019, Bandai Namco released a free version of the game calledDragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Lite. The lite version includes the first 5 episodes of the game’s story mode, featured online matches, and the game’s newly added photo mode. The Lite version is meant as an easy entry point for fans unsure of the game, with the ability tocarry over a players unique custom characterand progress over to the full version of the game when purchased.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2has sold incredibly well for Bandai Namco with the game crossing over 6 million in sales across all platforms thus far. Many fans havevoiced their interest in a sequelto the game on social media and while it may be high time for one, the new additional content could mean that may not happen soon.
