SSGSScan be activated when the player reaches five bars ofKi.Activating this ability has a downside, asthe player’sKi meterwill gradually deplete as long as they remain in this form, a necessary restriction to keep this powerful ability from being completely OP. While in this form, the character’s damage-dealing potential skyrockets, so players can make quick work of opponents as long as they timeBlue’sactivation well. It’s also worth noting that unlikeKaio-ken, which causes the character to stagger when the power wears off,Bluecauses no staggering, so the player isn’t left exposed to attack just because their power ended.
How To Unlock Super Saiyan Blue?
In the anime, Goku unlocksSuper Saiyan Bluethanks tohis extensive training withWhis, the right-hand man of the God of DestructionBeerus. This unlocking method more or less holds true inDragon Ball Xenoverse 2as well.To unlock the power, the player must train with Whis while using a character who is Level 90 or above.
The player must max out their friendship withWhis. To do so, undertake the 23rd quest,The Explosion of Namek,in which the player fightsFrieza. Its difficulty is only 3 Stars, and since the player will be going into this fight with a high-level character, it shouldn’t be too difficult, even if the player isn’t landingevery iconic anime punch.
Choose a Level 90+ Saiyan as the main character on the team and two Whis as support characters.Grinding this mission repeatedly withWhison the team will quickly build upFriendshipwith that character, ultimately unlockingSuper Saiyan God Super Saiyan.Though grinding isn’t the most thrilling thing in the world, there’s good news: this entire training process can be completed in less than half an hour if the player is diligent. Before long the player’s Saiyan will be draped in that iconic blue aura, andopponents won’t know what hit them.
Awakening The God Ki
Unlike other transformations inXenoverse 2, Super Saiyan Blue is anAwoken Skill, not a separate character. Being a transformation, Super Saiyan Blue is meant to complement theplayer’s existing preset skills.
This is quite unlike the usual trend of separate characters dedicated to signature transformations that possess separate skills. In that regard, fans may want to pay attention to what specific benefits of Super Saiyan Blue entails, mainly when used consistently in combat.
Damage Potential
The best advantages of Super Saiyan Blue as an Awoken Skill are its inherent benefits toAttack Damage (+25%)andDamage Reduction (+5%). In extended incursions, the 5% damage mitigation can spell the difference between defeat and having just enough juice to facilitate a counter-attack.
The damage reduction buff is also decently paired with quite the massive 25% boost to all damage types, not just basic attacks. With Super Moves also getting the same damage increase, players may want to consider more offensive plays with this Awoken Skill.
Ki Recovery Setback
One of the most significant drawbacks ofusing the Super Saiyan Blue transformationis its debuffs toKi Restoration (-10%)andKi Auto-Recovery (-10%), potentially giving a hard stall to a player’s ability to recover Ki for crucial combat attacks.
This lack of Ki makes Super Saiyan Blue quite unideal for ranged builds. However, players may be able to find a workaround for this disadvantage with the proper Ki Recovery buffs, although this will be done at the risk of offsetting potential boosts in other aspects of the battlefield.
