Press tours help fans of film learn more about the actors behind them and recentlyDunestar Timothee Chalamet admitted to running a custom Xbox 360 controller YouTube channel back when he was a kid. His admission came after an investigative report surfaced on Vice that connected the film star to the 11-year old channel based on old photographs of him and a scar on his left hand.
About eight minutes into an interview with Nate Hill, famous for his time in FaZe Clan, Chalamet said, “I actually had a YouTube channel people found…I used to paint-mod controllers.” A quick YouTube search for the channel theDunestar mentioned shows that the account exists and has the three published videos that Chalamet described.

As mentioned above, the channel in question, ModdedController360, was discovered earlier this week by Vice in its investigative report, but fans have been speculating over Chalamet’s connection to it for years. The three videos posted to it are brief but feature someone in their early teens showing off differentcustom paint jobs they had done to Xbox 360 controllers.
The controllers are actually well made and feature intricate custom designs that, according to Chalamet in the interview as well as him on his channel, he only charged $10 to $15 for. With the prices ofcustom video game hardwarenow, such a low price is certainly a steal, although he didn’t keep with the craft as there are only three videos on the channel and Chalamet confirmed in the interview that he only ever sold the three controllers featured on his account.
Chalamet clearly has an affinity for gaming as he speaks on it for quite some time in the interview with Hill, highlightingCall of Duty:Modern Warfare 2as one of his favorites. Weirdly enough, the first-person shooter is also mentioned on the ModdedController360 channel as the second video posted ends with Chalamet signing off by saying, “shoutout toModern Warfare 2, best video game right now.”
This isn’t the first time that a major Hollywood celebrity has opened up about their gaming past, asEternalsstarKumail Nanjiani recently revealed that he always travels with a game consolein an interview with GQ. He specifically pointed out that he still uses a limited editionGears of WarXbox 360 controller to do his gaming while on the road for work.
