It’s no secret thatElden Ringis one of the most popular games on the market right now. FromSoftware’s latest fantasy RPG with notoriously difficult combat has lived up to and exceeded expectations according to many. It is currently one of thehighest rated games of all time, and it seems thatElden Ring’spopularity will only continue to grow over time as more fans pick up the game and create their own Tarnished.

Of course, with more fans picking up the game, and enjoying it, there’s bound to be some fan art and creations to coincide with the overall experience ofElden Ring. As with many popular games, fan art of people’s favorite characters and environments in the game are featured all over the internet, and there are a few pieces givingElden Ringa more retro style. One fan recreated theElden Ringtrailer in a “demake” style, making it look like it would be released on the PS1.

It seems like there’s quite a demand for “demaking,” which is a process by which talented 3D artists and creators imagine what a game would look like were it to bereleased on more retro consoles. Another piece ofElden Ringart shows what the game might look like if it was released on even older machines. User u/pixelianska on Reddit showed off their design of the game’s cover art with a pixel style. There has been clear effort put into the design of this art, as it gives a genuine feel that this game could have been released some time ago, with a 32-bit style many are sure to find nostalgic.

In the comments of u/pixelianska’s Reddit post, many were praising the pixelElden Ringfor how cool it was. One user said “this is amazing! Perfect wallpaper for my phone,” while another stated that u/pixelianska should have made the PC icon forElden Ring. There was also one comment which compared thepixel art to that ofNoita,a roguelite with procedurally generated pixel environments.

While many seem excited about the idea of anElden Ring"demake," and the concept in general for many games, it’s unlikely that “demakes” are going to become as widespread as remakes are in the modern gaming world. However, as with many things, if there’s enough of a demand for something, it’s likely that a studio could consider the idea.

Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
