Weapon upgrades are king inElden Ring. Players tackling FromSoftware’s first open-world adventure will have a hard time without the right gear to fight off the hordes of vicious enemies. Amongthe strongest weapons inElden Ringare the boss weapons, usually retrieved by trading in Remembrance at the Roundtable Hold; however, these weapons cannot be upgraded with ordinary Smithing Stones, but instead require Somber Smithing Stones.

Rarer than their ordinary counterparts, finding Somber Smithing Stones can be a challenge inElden Ring. This guide will help players findwhere to buy Somber Smithing Stones (3) and (4)to help upgrade the Tarnished’s rarer weapons to +3 and +4.
