If you visit the hut at night, instead of the merchant, you will find a Bell Bearing Hunter, a relatively strong enemy with a good drop.
However, buying flowers at such a high price will seem wasteful if you have explored The Lands Between well enough. After visiting the Minor Erdtree area, players can find some Golden Sunflower by walking through the Altus Plateau and Capital Outskirts areas. In addition, you can find some of these flowers on the territory of Ashen Capital, but this place is much poorer in rare vegetation.
