WhileFallout 76might not have had the smoothest release when it hit shelves back in late 2018, the recent release of the game’sWastelandersupdatehas gone a long way to fixing a lot of its prior problems. Not only are NPCs finally a major aspect of the game, but the title has also worked on a lot of the bugs, added new quests, and implemented RPG-focused dialogue options.
It seems the game’s journey to becoming the multiplayerFalloutexperienceit was once promised to be is well and truly underway, however, Bethesda is far from done just yet. Recently unveiled onFallout’sofficial Twitter page, it appears that the studio behind the game has revealed exactly what its fanbase can expect in the coming months, including major new quests and events.

According to the timeline, the first major new addition toFallout 76will arrive sometime this Summer and will be called “Introducing Seasons.” It boasts new high-level perks, a fresh way to find teams called “public teams,” and a brand new legendary boss battle titled “A Colossal Problem.” Alongside these, it will supposedly reintroduce last year’s Fasnacht event and a new celebration called “Meat Week.” The next slate of new content will arrive in the Fall and will be called “One Wasteland for All.” It will allegedly introduce a brand new questline titled “Steel Dawn,” which will seemingly feed into an event taking place a few months later. Alongside that, it will also bring re-balanced combat and scaled rewards to the game, with the hopes of allowing characters of lower levels to play alongside their more experienced friends without being mowed down by high-level enemies.
The final DLC on the roadmap will drop in the Winter and is called “Fractured Steel.” It seems to be the biggest addition of the bunch, following on from the “Steel Dawn” storyline introduced in the previous DLC. Most importantly, it will bring the iconicBrotherhood of Steel factioninto the game, alongside perk loadouts, the ability to build Instanced Interiors, brand new expedition missions, NPCs, and companions. It appears it will be of a similar size to Wastelanders, likely making a lot of significant new additions to the game.
It’s great to see that Bethesda’s bringing a myriad of new content to the game soon, especially since the game’s less than stellar reputation could’ve seen them abandon the game entirely. While many still have issues with the title overall, it’s clear thatBethesdais committed to transforming it into the game fans know it has the potential to be.
Fallout 76is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
