Every year, the team at EA Sports tries to reflect the players that have taken a major step with their play throughout the season with a rating upgrade. It is common for young players to se their numbers improve drastically from one year’s entry to the next. These massive upgrades usually come with a higher potential, which makes these players very interesting choices for Career Mode.
The changes betweenFIFA 23andEA FC 24feature eleven players whose ranking has improved by double digits. These players range from young prospects to a Ballon d’Or nominee, and it’s a list full of talented players in a lot of different positions.
11Moisés Caicedo: 80 (+10)
This is one player that was expected to have an even higher upgrade. Moisés Caicedo was a record transfer this summer as yetanother player from Brightonthat surprised the entire world. Still playing for them last year, he became the anchor with some fabulous play, catching the eyes of the entire world.
Rated at only 70 a year ago, Caicedo is now breaking into the 80swith the expectation of a continuous growthfrom now on as one of Chelsea’s star midfielders.
10Roméo Lavia: 73 (+11)
Two Chelsea players and two defensive midfielders start this list. Roméo Lavia, a 19-year-old Belgian footballer, has been in the Premier League for a couple of years. First he was with Manchester City, a team where he obviously didn’t play much. Last year he was with Southampton, where he emerged into a bigger role and a talent to take into consideration.
Southampton couldn’t avoid relegation, so Lavia became a prominent target for the other Premier League teams. He dinally landed at Chelsea, although he is not likely to get a lot of opportunities thanks to the signings of Caicedo and Enzo Fernández, among others. Still, a 73 overall isn’t a bad rating, with the opportunity to increase his rating in the future.
9Alejandro Garnacho: 75 (+11)
Manchester United’s wonder kid proved to be better than expected. He gave a few great performances last year that resulted in 5 goals and 34 appearances for the club. One of the most popular young talents in the world, Garnacho already has an 88 potential, multiple Play Styles, and finally, a face scan.
With his 75 rating inEA FC 24,he is a great option of the bench for any club and a great pickup for career mode. He may not bethe best left-wingeron this list, but is certainly one of the most interesting prospects.
8Mats Wieffer: 76 (+11)
It’s definitely the moment for the defensive midfielders to shine, and Mats Wieffer found his game with a great breakout season. The Dutch footballer became one of Feyenoord’s best players, and led the team to the Eredivise title.
His amazing level of play also earned him the call to debut with the national team. Wieffer’s name has already being linked to some top clubs, and he might be a player on the move during the winter transfer window.
7Tommaso Baldanzi: 77 (+11)
Baldanzi had a similar trajectory as Garnacho. Last season he became the surprise for Empoli, going from never playing to 27 appearances and 4 goalsas an attacking midfielder, who can also play as winger. His +11 doesn’t come as a surprise, as he proved time and again his ability to surpass defenders with ease and posed a threat shooting from close and long range.
One of the most exciting Italian prospects at the moment, 20-year-old Tommaso Baldanzi has being compared to players such as Sebastian Giovinco or Paulo Dybala.
6Lucas Chevalier: 78 (+11)
Chevalier, a player coming out of the Lille’s academy, actually earned the starting spot for Lille last season. Decisive saves early in the season gave him the confidence to grow as a player, making him worthy of the starting spot.
EA FC 24 gave him some deserved recognition with a 78 rating, putting him asone of the best young keepersin the game. The French team found a great keeper for years to come, in their own academy, hoping to follow the of the other like Mike Maignan.
5Folarin Balogun: 79 (+12)
Folarin Balogun is the only American and the only center forward to make the list. He rose to stardom during his loan at Reims last season. 22 goals in 39 appearances for the French club more than justify his massive rating upgrade, especially compared to his only 3 goals in the previous season playing in a worse league.
This summer, As Monaco made the move for him with the expectation ofsigning a top-tier strikerknown for his pace and ability to score with both feet. Balogun is still only 22 years old, and has a lot of room for improvement.
4Khvicha Kvaratskhelia: 86 (+12)
Kvaratskhelia went from a rather unknown player to a superstar and Ballon d’Or candidate almost overnight. His flashy style of play is accompanied by amazing stats and great results as a team, making it to the UEFA Champions League Semi-Finals. His success has brought him to the spotlight at just 21 years of age.
Kvaratskhelia the most of his first season at Napoli, and has already becomeone of the best wingers in the world. His 86 rating and five-star skills are more than deserved.
3Bradley Barcola: 76 (+13)
Another case of breakout season for a winger, Barcola scored 7 goals in 31 games for Lyon last season. His performances earned him the transfer to Paris Saint-Germain for this season and a massive +13 upgrade that has already started to improve even more inEA FC 24.
The French 21-year-old is the primary back-up fo Dembelé. This means he will geta lot of opportunities, especially in the domestic league.
2Alejandro Balde: 81 (+13)
Barça’s Masia keeps producing top talent almost constantly, and the latest top player that came out of nowhere was theSpanish left-back Alejandro Balde. The 19-year-old star became the perfect replacement for Jordi Alba both in Barcelona and in the Spanish national team.

His electric style of play and perfect fit with the Spanish style moved him up to an 81 rating, a stunning +13 upgrade from the previous year. The only complaint is that he is missing a face scan inEA FC 24.
