Best In Slot Gear For Black Mage
Black Mage is one of the few combat jobs in the game that lacks a clear stat priority. This job can benefit greatly from any number of stats such as Spell Speed, Critical Hit, Determination, or Direct Hit Rate. As a result, the gear’s Item Level (and thus maximum overall stat increase) is usually the most important attribute.
This build is designed for players who want to focus on high damage Critical Hits at the expense of longer cast times, which is what most people associate withthe iconic Black Mage.

Alternative Build Paths
Because of its flexible stat priorities, Black Mage is one of the Jobs with the most build flexibility. There are two viable paths to an endgame gearset for Black Mage. In the first, players should get Spell Speed to ~1.3k and then focus on Crit and Item Level. However, it is also viable to maximize Direct Hit and Spell Speed to reduce cast times instead. Both builds will result in similar damage outputs but feel very different to play.
Best In Slot Gear For Summoner
Summoners desire Critical Hit and Spell Speed (to GCD 2.4 - 2.5) above all other stats, alongside healthy amounts of Determination and Direct Hit Rate. This makes their BiS one of the most difficult to farm, asthe Arcadion RaidGear has their desired stats in spades.
The buy order for the Arcadion Gear is Legs → Boots → Gloves.
Pre-Raid Gear
If players haven’t been able to farm all the Light-heavy gear used in this gearset, then substituting it withTomestone of Aestheticsgear is the next best thing.
Best In Slot Gear For Pictomancer
As the new kid on the block, Pictomancer has received a lot of attention thus far. When playing it in high-end Duties, players should focus on Weapon Damage and Intelligence first, then Critical Hit, then everything else. This makes full use of the Pictomancer’s strengths, which lie in its rapid basic rotation followed by high-damage burst windows.
If players are going into Savage right away, then it may not be possible to farm all of the Light-heavy gear used in this build. If this is the case, they can substitute the Ring for its Neo Kingdom counterpart. Buy order is Gloves → Feet → Body → Head → Ring
Best In Slot Gear For Red Mage
Red Mages are by far the most consistent damage dealers of the Caster DPS lineup because of Dualcast and their powerful melee moves. Critical Hit and Determination are the primary stats of the Red Mage’s BiS, while they avoid Spell Speed like the plague due to their natively fast casting times.
Vegetable Soup
The buy order for the Light-heavy gear in this gearset is Feet → Hands → Legs → Head → Ring. If players wish to head into Savage earlier than farming these pieces allows, they should be able to do so after purchasing the legs (albeit with greater difficulty).
