InFinal Fantasy 14, food items can be eaten for many different effects such as stat buffs, but the buffs don’t stack when you keep eating. That doesn’t mean there’s a limit to how much a player can eat, though. A streamer once caused the internet to freak out when he ate a stack of 999 eggs nearly a year ago, and he has since decided to try and top that by eating an entire inventory’s worth of stacks.
Ross O’Donovan once logged intoFinal Fantasy 14to randomly be handed a stack of 999 eggs, being told to eat them. He didn’t waste any time and began eating the eggs one by one, before getting to 685 and tweeting out that people could come to watch. On July 20, Ross tweeted out that he was going to eat as many eggs as his character could carry, totaling 138k+ eggs, in the “worst idea he’s ever had.”

As of this writing, Ross has made it through more than 29 stacks, which comes to over 28,971 eggs eaten, and he’s still going. It doesn’t just end at the eggs, since the entire eating event is beingstreamed on Twitchas the “Eggwalker Subathon” which entails that for every thousand subs, he’s going to be given another stack. Three of the 28 stacks have been from the subscriptions he’s gained while streaming. Apparently, if he reaches 20,000 subscriptions, he will “shave his head, becoming an egg.”
Like last time, people are invited to watch the egg-eating onthe popular MMOFF14itself, with a small crowd to be seen around Ross' character, dancing and swinging lightsticks as they cheer him on. He’s also made a tweet thread on his Twitter account to keep track of how many days the challenge takes him. He’s also said that during the subathon, he’ll only eat meals with eggs in them.
Taking this egg-eating event to the next level is hilarious, but also leads to a rather relaxing stream as Ross talks to his viewers as he continues feeding hisFF14character. In some of his videos on Twitter, he talks about how tapping keys constantly is hurting his hand, and that he apparently has a foot pedal coming in the mail in order to make the Eggwalker Subathon easier.
While the stream is funny, he’s said that he’ll also sleep on stream, only taking breaks for when hygiene calls for it. What was meant to be some rest became only a small nap instead, and it’s clear he’s already very tired. Some donators have had their messages read on stream, asking Ross to take a break if he ever feels it’s needed. At the very least, he isn’t alone, as thedirector ofFinal Fantasy 14has streamedthe game for hours, too.
