Final Fantasy 14fans are always looking for absurd ways to challenge themselves even further in the critically-acclaimed MMORPG. A group ofFinal Fantasy 14players accomplished one such task by completing a Treasure Map with a team full of Disciples of the Land.

Treasure Maps are special items inFinal Fantasy 14which allow players to find hidden treasure chests in the world. These chests contain valuable items that can only be collected after defeating the monsters who guard them. Though these maps are collected by Disciples of the Land–Final Fantasy 14’sgathering classes–the challenges within are to be completed by full teams of combat jobs.

Or at least, they are supposed to be. Redditor andFinal Fantasy 14player Fr3myy defied that expectation alongside six otherplayers who decided to tackle anA Realm Rebornmap as Botanists, Fishers, and Miners. The hilarious escapade was fraught with failure. According to Multi289, another member of the intrepid Disciples of the Land squad, the team failed on three maps before finally emerging triumphant on the fourth.

As one may expect, gatherers have no combat abilities, and can only swing their tools for minuscule amounts of damage while having a dreadfully low pool of hit points. However, accessories inFinal Fantasy 14can be equipped by all classes, allowing them to gain more battle prowess than otherwise possible. The players also pentamelded their crafted gatherer gear with Critical Hit materia to further increase their stats, burning hundreds of battle materia in the process. Being level 90 while fighting level 50 monsters also helped a great deal.

Players couldn’t believe Fr3myy and Multi289’s hilarious feat. They congratulated the players and praised their absurd ingenuity for coming up with such a silly challenge in the first place. Some fans shared their own hilarious–and often unsuccessful–endeavors to battle while playing a gatherer. In many ways, the difficulty of Fr3myy and their friends' accomplishment is as impressive as those of theFinal Fantasy 14players who tackle Savage raidsand other difficult content.
