Chapter 9’s Battle with Princess Ivy
Before heading to this fight, players will want to stop by the item shop and armory to get:
Once at the Brodian Castle, players will see a cutscene with the King of Brodia and the King of Elusia. After this, the battle between Alear and Ivy and all their respective units will begin. This is the most challenging battle so far inFire Emblem Engage, so players will need to be on their toes.
Thankfully, there is a new recruitableFire Emblemunitin the middle of the battlefield named Jade. She will help, but only if players chat with her as Diamant or Alear. Head to her quickly and add yet another unit to the field to help out. Behind Jade, there are two Engage spots to help fill up an ally’s Engage bar, so don’t be afraid to bring out the big guns for the small fry close to the starting squares. There are several units on the battlefield that are carrying useful items to steal: the mage with the Elsurge, one Armored unit with a Spirit Dust (gives permanent +2 to magic), and a unit with an upgrade to Jean’s Iron Hit.
to crush the competition, be sure to bring plenty of ranged units, both with magic and bows, to take down the armored and flying units. Bring sword and axe wielders to take on the enemies with lances and axes; it’s probably best to leave the lance melee at home for this battle. During the opponent’s turn 3, Katetsu andZelkovwith reach the enemy’s fortifications, and they each summon two Corrupted. Make sure to down these two generals before taking on Ivy with the bow users.
