Fortnite Should Keep Its Original Pandora’s Box Plans in its Pocket

Season 2 is quickly coming to a close, and that likely means another map change with new features and characters to enjoy. Current rumors have suggested thatFortniteis headed towards the apocalypse, and if this is true, the Greek god-inspired world may be set to crumble. However, this doesn’t mean Pandora’s Box will be completely forgotten. Yes, the ominous chest may have fallen in the River Styx, but this doesn’t mean that it’s destroyed.

Fortnite’s Original Pandora’s Box Idea

Theoriginal concept for Pandora’s Boxshowed very different mechanics for opening the object. During the finale of Season 1, players were tasked with working together to break the six chains holding Pandora’s Box, but the original idea involved something completely different. Instead, once the box was opened, players would shoot a series of four panels, which would reveal teasers about what comes next forFortnite.

Pandora’s Box may have closed and fallen into the River Styx, but theapocalyptic rumors surroundingFortnite’s Season 3could very well bring the feature back. A recent leak that claims to revealFortnite’s 2024 roadmap shows that aMad Maxcollaboration could be on the way. This would definitely go along with the apocalypse rumors, and what’s even more interesting is that a major plot point in theMad Maxfranchise is that water has become scarce. If an apocalyptic event hitsFortnite, this could potentially turn the map into a desert wasteland, drying up the River Styx.

If the River Styx were to dry up, this could be the perfect moment to bring Pandora’s Box back. There are always rumors aboutFortnite, but there seem to be more than usual as of late. Withspeculations of Galactus returningand a seemingly inevitable showdown with the Greek pantheon, an apocalyptic event seems nearly confirmed if these rumors are true.

Fortnite’s recent 2024 roadmap leak has already proven to be correct about the addition of Billie Eilish to Fortnite Festival, giving more weight to the apocalypse andMad Maxtheories.

The Perfect Time for Pandora’s Box to Return

The original Pandora’s Box concept is such a good idea that it shouldn’t go to waste, and a dried-up wasteland revealing the object once more presents the perfect opportunity to finally include the idea. The four panels revealing teasers about upcoming events and Seasons could still be used to give players exciting previews of Season 3, or even Season 4.

As Epic’s incredibly successful battle royale title continues to grow at a rapid pace, leaks and rumors aboutFortnitewill be just as much part of the game as its in-game content. Although not every concept gets put into a game, the original Pandora’s Box mechanics are too good to waste.
