AGenshin Impactleak is hinting at the appearance of a new character believed to hail from Fontaine, previously thought to be the design for Mondstadt’s Varka. The popular RPG from HoYoverse has frequently seen upcoming characters leak long before their release dates with the most recent batch featuring several Fontaine characters.New characters like Lyney and Lynettehave already had details about their rarity, weapon, and elements revealed despite Fontaine’s launch being several months away. Now, another Fontaine character is being teased by the game’s leaking community.Despite Fontaine’s official release likely not coming until late summer, leakers have already begun to share plenty of informatiob aboutGenshin Impact’s next region. Reveals of future content for the RPG have shown off several details from the domain of the Hydro Archon, including structures, appearances from the Fatui, and even hints about the region’s map. Recent leaks have also uncovered a number of character models for the new region with more than 10 characters revealed early. Tao gave the depiction of the Fontaine character a rating of 7.5/10, confirming the design was “his best art” yet. Previous leaks have suggested the character will tentatively possess the Cryo element and likely hails from Fontaine. Fans had originally believed designs connected to Wriothesley wereMondstadt’s long-rumored Varka, before leakers would confirm the two are separate characters.

Wriothesley comes as the newest of several future characters to see their art leaked long before their eventual launch. Rumors have swirled about anew character hailing from Inazuma named Kirara, formerly thought to be a Geo Bow user and now believed to be a Dendro Sword character. Fontaine has also seen heavy speculation about the Fatui’s involvement with the region’s story, with both Sandrone and Arlecchino expected to make their first in-game appearances. Both characters previously appeared inGenshin Impact’s “A Midwinter Night’s Lazzo” cinematic leading up to the release of Sumeru.

WhileGenshin Impacthas seen plenty of leaks related to future characters, the newest addition to the RPG’s cast has received a fair share of criticism from fans. Newly-released five-star character Dehya has been the subject of numerous gameplay-related complaints, with fans feeling the popular character released in an underpowered state. Players have also discoveredseveral bugs with Dehya’s Elemental Burstoften being canceled prematurely. HoYoverse’s plethora of upcoming characters will look to avoid the same pitfalls asGenshin Impact’s most recent addition.
