Genshin Impact’s newest trailer showcases the gameplay for the newest five-star character arriving with the Version 4.1 update, Fontaine’s Chief Justice Neuvillette. The popular HoYoverse RPG has seen its prospective roster expand significantly since the launch of its newest region last month. The Version 4.0 update would bringthree new playable units in Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet while the first act of Fontaine’s story introduced characters like Furina, Navia, and Clorinde among others. Now, Fontaine’s Chief Justice is set to join the fray in the coming update.
While Neuvillette was not made playable with his first introduction toGenshin Impact, the Chief Justice of the region would play a major role throughout Fontaine’s story. Neuvillette acts as the head judge of the Opera Epiclese alongside the “Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale,” Fontaine’s mysterious verdict-dispatching apparatus. Players also get the chance to interact with Neuvillette outside the court, seeing more of his stoic personality while investigating the case of Navia’s father’s death. Now, fans of Neuvillette will soon be able to add the Chief Justice to their teams.

The newest ofGenshin Impact’s “Character Demo” trailers, titled “Neuvillette: Font of All Waters,” shows off the regal and majestic gameplay of Fontaine’s Chief Justice. Neuvillette uses his cane to command the waters, featuring a unique Charged Attack allowing him to move around and collect “Sourcewater Droplets” to charge a powerful beam dealing Hydro damage. Neuvillette’s Elemental Skill summons a “Raging Waterfall” dealing Hydro damage with thePneuma alignment of Fontaine’s Arkhe system. His Elemental Burst releases waves around him, dealing AoE Hydro damage based on his Max HP.
Neuvillette’s introduction toGenshin Impactcomes amidst plenty of speculation about the character’s involvement with Fontaine’s story.Neuvillette’s Character Teaser heavily foreshadows his backstory, alluding to long and forgotten memories from his past that may hint at the Chief Justice’s true identity. Many have suggested that Neuvillette’s power may even be greater than that of Hydro Archon Furina, shown to have significant sway over both Furina and Fontaine as a whole. Neuvillette will debut withinGenshin Impactas a Hydro element character using a Catalyst as his weapon.
Neuvillette is not the only new character making an appearance during the Version 4.1 update with another five-star set to debut during the update’s second half. While he has not yet been featured in-game,Version 4.1 will introduce players to Wriothesley, the Administrator of Fontaine’s Fortress of Meropide. Wriothesley will reportedly be introduced to the game as a DPS character and the first Cryo Catalyst character withinGenshin Impact’s lineup. Neuvillette and Wriothesley’s debuts look to bring a pair of powerful Catalyst characters forGenshin Impactplayers to pick up.
