Glitchpunkcombines the aesthetics of the Cyberpunk genre with the top-down perspective and chaotic gameplay of an oldGrand Theft Autotitle. Players take control of an android who must complete contracts to stay in the good books of various gangs and cults. Hijacking cars, hacking citizens, and a plethora of weapons to choose from are just some of the features awaiting players in this futuristic story.

The action-heavy indieis out now in early access for those wanting to check it out before the official release. As with many early access games, there are a few annoying quirks thatindie developerDark Lord hasn’t perfected yet. The save system is one of these annoyances, asGlitchpunkdoesn’t tell players that they can save, let alone where to do it.

How to Save in Glitchpunk

There are no autosaves, andplayers must find a Hideout to save inGlitchpunk. Hideouts are thewhite house symbolsthat appear while looking at the map and show asyellow on the minimap. Other symbols can be toggled off from the main map tab to make finding a Hideout easier.

New Baltia is the first chapter available toearly accessplayers, and its Hideout is located on the southern part of the map, in the Southern Way district. While here, players can also store their car in one of the garages by the side. Any lost health is recovered when saving.

While failing a quest won’t ruin the game, as it is replayable by pressing “R,” dying does cost players their guns and items. Dying repeatedly will eat at players’ money, as weapons and items are needed to complete missions. With no autosave mechanic in the game yet, manually saving at regular intervals is essential.

Saving inGlitchpunkcan also let players try out different questlines. Multiple contracts often appear, but completing one of them will block players from accessing others. Choosing which contract to fulfill is important, as this is the main way to build a good relationship with each gang.

The sci-fi title features a branching narrative with achoice system, so deciding who to side with could have big consequences later in the story. If players regret an allegiance after completing a contract, they can load up their save and see what the other gangs have to offer.

How to save inGlitchpunkis just one of the mechanics that theGrand Theft Autohomage doesn’t make clear, but this is early days. It should receive plenty of updates and improvements before officially releasing. Developer Dark Lord has already confirmed an autosave feature will be added soon.
