Many players have citedGod of War (2018)as one of the most visually stunning games released on the PS4 to date. From the detailed, atmospheric environments to the terrific utilization of a one-shot camera perspective, the technical performance ofGod of Waris incredible to witness for several users. However, that doesn’t necessarily meanGod of Waris completely bereft of any technical hiccups.

Within the past decade, it’s become quite commonplace for AAA titles to launch with lingering bugs and glitches. Even something likeThe Witcher 3,which received a great deal of acclaim, had a multitude of technical issues that players had to deal with, before the game finally got patched. While players haven’t seen anything quite to that effect withinGod of War, one player managed to trigger a rather strange glitch involving Atreus.

A Reddit user named CollateralJustice took an in-game screenshot of Atreus shooting an electric arrow from inside a tree. It’s unclear as to how exactly Atreus' character model managed to get stuck said tree, but over on thePC version ofGod of War, there was an Atreus bugthat caused him to be unresponsive while the player is progressing to other parts of the game. It does appear the user is playing on the PC version, so it seems that there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out.

It’s interesting how bugs and glitches sometimes tend to occur more so on PC than on other platforms. Obviously, every game is different on a technical scale and every player’s PC setup is different, but there have been some titles that have performed significantly less favorably on PC. Back whenBatman: Arkham Knightlaunched on PCplayers encountered a cacophony of bugs and glitches that weren’t present on console versions of the game.

In any case, it’s amazing to see how even a game as visually and technically impressive asGod of Warcan have bugs slip through the cracks. In fairness, compared to the originalGod of Wartrilogy, this game is much more ambitious in terms of both its visuals and scale. Thus, it’s easier for bugs to go unnoticed in terms of a game with as many moving parts asGod of War.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds forGod of Wargoing forward. In addition to the recent PC port ofGod of War, its upcoming sequel,God of War Ragnarokhas many fans excited for what’s to come. With new characters, settings, and likely some new gameplay mechanics, there’s a lot for fans to look forward to.

God of Waris available on PC and PS4.
